Increíble hotel en una hermosa playa
El hotel en realidad es un condominio de suites que son departamentos completamente amueblados y equipados que pertenecen a diversos dueños y son utilizados para alojamiento como hotel mientras los dueños no lo utilizan. Todo es de primera categoría y está ubicado en uno de los mejores lugares del mundo sin duda. Vista al mar y se escucha el sonido del océano todo el día y noche, altamente recomendable si gusta de tranquilidad y contacto con la naturaleza.

Más que un hotel es como tener tu propia casa.La ubicación es simplemente perfecta.La piscina y los jardines son maravillosos La playa no es buena para nadar pero es perfecta para pasear y la tendrás casi para ti solo. Muy cerca de todos los puntos de interés en el norte de Kauai

Extremely charming, a must place to stay
The houses were really close to the sea, with incredible views (specially in our room, which had around 120 degrees of ocean visible from the room). Our room was really big (we got the ocean deluxe) and had a lot of charm. I'll never forget the beautiful breakfasts during the sunrise, nor the relaxing sound of the waves during the nights. The personal was incredible nice and helpful. They really transmit the calm style of life of Hawaii. There is a restaurant just next to the facility that has really good Luau and food. It is close to Hanalei, the town we liked the most in all Hawaii, and very close to possibly the best beach in the island (Kee Beach). There is a very popular hiking route nearby, that leads to a hidden beach and waterfall, and two caves as well. This place is really magical, I'd return here for sure. Thanks Steve!

This is a unique property near the end of the road on the north end. The units are not two room. They are not all equal, my family was on site, some rooms have two baths, mine had one, none have two rooms, just two sleeping spaces in a studio layout. it's a nice property near the beach. The person who checked me in was rude regarding my use of Expedia to book. Overall a strange place.

This is a lovely property in the most gorgeous part of the island. I do think the units are in need of a renovation. It has the potential to be incredible. It's in a super quiet and beautiful area and the staff are wonderful but the units are very dated

The property is oceanfront and the grounds are lovely. The rooms are dated and used. The property hosted people and first responders after the floods and it shows. The restaurant feels more like a community space than a restaurant, the check-in staff person was nonplussed. The general area can’t be beat though, Hanalei is beautiful.

Would stay again - partial ocean view
Beautiful, beach front location. Quiet area on the ocean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not much in the way of amenities (grocery / restaurants) right near by. Must travel to Hanalei to purchase supplies / food for the fridge. The only issue we had was the overhead lights. Multiple times during the stay the lights would turn on by themselves - they turned on at 5am and again around 9-10pm, both times we were sleeping. It could be the sensors in the other rooms or some other issue. The restaurant was ok. Wasn’t anything spectacular but the service was decent and the views were worth it. We would stay here again.

This property is by far my favorite place to stay on Kauai. Some people may not like the fact that there is no TV or AC and it is not considered what goes for a resort now days, but this is exactly what makes it so special, we particularly liked the kitchen, the view and the kitties. Of course being right on the ocean does help. The staff is amazing, we adore Sierra at the front desk, Max our driver, and Steven, the manager, each one so responsive to our needs, they made us feel like family. Our trip was too short! We will be back.

This is a great resort. It is at the end of the road on the north side so own transportation is essential. Very close to many beaches. Plan ahead and get reservations for the trail,a day of great hiking,beaches,and snorkeling. No a/c or tv, but was there a week and did not miss it. Plan plenty of drive time to activities on south and west side of island,traffic is just bad anywhere on the island. The restaurant and coffee shop at the resort is great.

Great location let down by customer service.
Loved the location and views, but I was wishing for Aircon in such a hot and humid climate! Also lack of TV is disappointing, everything in the area shuts down at 9pm, can't sit out on the balcony because it's pitch black and usually windy. For these reasons I'd rate it 3star apart from the fact I found the front of house team a disaster area, miserable "Aunty" and having booked the complimentary shuttle to our wedding 3 months in advance and confirming the day before, the bride was 4 minutes late and the shuttle drove off in front of us! Because they had a "mix up" and double booked the farmers market and couldn't wait!! Unfortunately it's 2 star rating from me for that reason.

Best location
Location location. North shore Kauai is our favorite area in all of Hawai’i and Hanalei colony resort s the best spot. Quiet, green and lush and the beautiful water steps away. The condo is spacious and comfortably furnished. The staff are personable, happy to help and the shuttle service is a huge bonus. Shuttling to our favorite beach of tunnels was so easy as there is very limited parking. Can’t wait to come back.

My new Happy Place
Best kept secret in the north! Great low key resort ON the beach. Gorgeous grounds and spacious, clean rooms. Also on the grounds are a coffe shop/art gallery and restaurant. Great location north of Hanalei town- feels remote but a short free resort shuttle ride available to town, Tunnels beach or Haena beach park. Great staff- we will be back!

No housekeeping service
Location is great but no housekeeping. No garbage pickup from room. You need to find the trash can outside. No clean linen or towels. You need to take dirty sheets and towels to a laundry room and exchange for clean items. No vacuuming. For the price we paid I expected better service. Plus, no mention of this when we reserved the room.

We had the honeymoon suite in building G and holy cow what a view and experience! We definitely enjoyed the room and entire experience. The history of prior flooding and community togetherness was really touching and inspiring to read on. The beach access was sooo close and seeing the sun rise from our bed was magical. Will definitely return with future trips to the north shore of Kauai.

I found the 9th wonder of the world at the Hanalei Colony Resort. I took advantage of the Hanalei Day Spa and i got 7 massages during my 2 week stay at the HCR resort. The therapists have world class teqniques and the beachside deep tissue massage was truly a treat. I had the privilege of meeting the s owner of the Hanalei Day Spa, Darci, and her daughter Chelsea who runs the front desk operations there.

Lovely setting and charming units. We had a brief two night stay. Plans for our one full day we’re disrupted a bit by the requirement that we appear at the office between 9 and 10 to complete checkin which could not occur the evening we arrived since we didn’t arrive until 5:30 when the office was closed. “Island time” I know. But we had planned an early start to our activities for the day so this was a bit disappointing.

Not sure it's worth the cost
Be warned that paying extra for "premium oceanfront" doesn't mean you'll have a premium oceanfront room. It's just a view, often obstructed, of the ocean. That was disappointing. The first night there, a huge storm knocked out power to part of the resort and closed a bridge making a lot of things inaccessible. We managed to get some groceries but didn't get moved to a unit with power and the ice machine was broken so we couldn't keep things at food safe temperatures. Ended up cooking dinner early and both grills ran out of propane so the chicken couldn't cook through. The hotel made zero accommodations for a whole lot of issues. I don't expect them to control the weather but for what it costs to stay there, some attempts to customer service would've been nice. Even something like candles would've been helpful.

This is NOT a copy-paste holiday resort. It is a truly unique place. QUIET place. There are no TVs. People don't play their music loud. There is no screaming and hollering. Even the kids are quiet. All you can hear is the sound of the waves and the surf. I have never been in a place like this. Mind you, it is not a Ritz. The place is a bit dated with some vintage amenities. However, the location, the atmosphere and the whole ambiance makes it a truly wonderful place.
