Good value for money

It's not luxury by any standard but I paid a very low rate for a single room and what I got was good value for money. The room itself was small and the bed cheap and not very comfortable. It was fairly clean but the net curtians had mould and other details. The bath / shower worked but was broken so the shower was half mast. Onsite parking was fine. The bar area was good and the barman excellent. There was a part of rowdy builders and some choice language which didn't bother me but the barman cared enough to come over and apologise for it which I appreciated. The leisure facilities are good but as a hotel resident you have to pay £4 to use them after 5 p.m. I wonder if they're not a different business to the hotel. Still, for £4 it was worth it. As I say not luxury but for the price I pad I cannot complain and will probably stay again. Hopefully the amorous couple who banged their headboard against the wall at 11 p.m., 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. won't also be staying. You have to admire the dedication.

Dated

The hotel is very very dated, there isn’t a part of the floor that doesn’t make a noise. The hair dryer in my room only heated up and smelt like burning, so didn’t actually work. You could hear everything going on in all other rooms. The lift was an experience. The hotel is in serious need to refurb. The pool and gym were not easily accessible, opening times and booking methods should be clearly displayed! The staff were lovely it’s a pity the hotel is not modernised to at least this millennium. We actually cut our stay short and left early with no real question from staff as to why or resolve, I think this is because the staff know there’s nothing they can do other than what they are doing with the facilities they have.

Wasted breakfast for 4

Rooms were old fashioned and basic but my biggest crib was we paid for 4 for breakfast and were not told in arrival breakfast times with absolutely nothing at all regarding information at reception or in bedroom.1st hotel I’ve stayed in with no book with information and local amenities

Not great

They had an iron in wardrobe but had no iron to lend me. Then after asking again was told the maid would come with an iron and waited for over an hour and they never turned up. All vending machines was empty so no snacks and drink available apart from at the bar. When asked for a bottle of water was told to drink from the tap in our bathroom. On arrival was not told when breakfast was or what time to check out.

Very disappointing stay

Booked Saturday 1 night stay, wanted to take kids in the pool but it was only open 10-3. Check in wasn't until 4pm & check out is 10am so wasnt possible to make use of that facility. Rooms very dated, our 2nd floor window had broken safety catch not good in a family room. No WiFi available in the rooms. Only given half a toilet roll for a family room. Wouldn't go back.

Last resort

Arrived in the hotel at 9 pm for check in but had to wait up until 11:15 to check in. Shower was not working in one of the room booked.

The worst !

Smell of smoking in the room. Extremely basic and tired, outdated decor. No kettle in room. 2 teabags for 2 night stay. No coffee. ( these were provided however when asked for). No towel rail or hooks to hang wet towels. No soap at sink. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Noisy air conditioning. View of brick wall inches from window. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in.

What you pay is what you get.

Dirty hotel, room didn’t look like it had been cleaned, and even came with a moth squashed on the wall. Stained towels and un vacuumed floors. Then again, what can you expect from a £30 stay.

Run away

Well! where do i start? Turned up to find a young woman and child in stress with receptionists due to the fact that the swimming pool had to be booked to use it, so i listened more intense as that was the only reason i booked this hotel was the pool, but to be told that only 3 ppl aloud in pool at one time and that they only give hotel guests discount price!! ( Yes you have to pay even if staying at the hotel) and is a separate business to the hotel but sorry we are fully booked up this week, this was a Tuesday, i was fuming and being loud as i am just in life i demanded comp by way of at least upgrading our rooms, we was told you now have the best rooms in the house, so i said ok but still stressing the fact my little girls had to be told no swimming. Rooms where an absolute massive disappointment to say the least. We thought this cant get any worse until we woke up feeling like a hurd of elephants had trampled us and then we did 12 round with tyson, the bed for a honeymoon room suite was a silent bully to us. my girls were not impressed at all, i could go on and on but running out of space, just do yourself a favour and sleep in the car or on the street rather than this hotel.

To be honest the previous reviews of this hotel made us feel apprehensive on our stay. It could do with a revamp quite old fashioned inside. Bedroom was very basic hence the price we paid, but it was clean and comfortable enough for a night stay

Avoid at all costs

The booking in process was ok. From there on in it was a terrible experience. No pillowcases were left in the room, the toilet had dried urine stains around the rim, along with curly hairs, the kettle was manky, the carpet didnt look like it had been vacuumed, under the bed hadn't been vacuumed for ages, the inside of the windows had dirt and mould, and the room stank of stale smoke - as proven by the amount of cigarette butts outside the window. The surfaces in the room were dirty and covered in dust. The 'Internet room' booked didnt even show the hotel network, let alone join it -could only join by standing in the foyer. The whole place was just shabby, unkempt and smelt of cigarettes and dope. The pool/jacuzzi advertised belonged to the gym next door and a premium was charged for its usage. There was also a large screw poking out of the wardrobe, in a family room! The only good point was that the car park was large, although it looked like a patch of wasteland. The immediate surrounding area (outside the front of the hotel) was a magnet for antisocial behaviour. If they charged £30 per night I wouldnt be complaining, but £87??!!!
