I rarely write a review, but I felt so cheated. So it's partly my own fault, I didn't want to pay to inflated prices in the Mackinaw area, so I settled for the cheapest price - 129 for Friday, 159 for Saturday. The property is tired, dated and run down. The carpets are stained, the mattresses were new in 1980 and uncomfortable. None of the pillows matched and they were all super old as was the polyester bedspread from 1990. That being said, they were clean and no bed bugs, I I had nightmares of bugs. No care is put into the maintenance of the property for example the deck hasn't been painted in years and weeds are growing up through it, the exterior could use a power wash. The outside pool was green.
The service was lousy - was turned away for check in (which is located at a different hotel down the street) at 4 and not able to check in until 630pm. No compensation or discount. I realized when I got to my room that they didn't give me the wifi password. I went back to the front desk and was reluctantly given it. I gave the password to two other guests because they are in the same boat. But, the wifi didn't work in my room, I had to stand in the parking lot to get reception. I would have called the front desk, but there was no phones in the rooms.
When I went to the front desk to get the password, I heard another guest getting a waiver for a waterpark that was included in the room, so I asked for one also, and was given it. If you don't ask, they won't tell you, there are 2
