Regrettably, I had the misfortune of staying at a hotel Bahía Principe Coba where negligence and poor service seem to be the standard. From my arrival, the signs of deficient service were evident; before checking in, I witnessed a client bitterly complaining in the lobby about the terrible attention, and to make matters worse, at the entrance, another guest was reporting a theft. It's unbelievable that such incidents could happen in broad daylight at an establishment.
Room cleanliness was non-existent. There was no change of clean towels during my stay, which is already unacceptable. Yet, to make matters worse, the front desk staff was rude and distant. One would expect at least basic customer care, but it seemed like even getting minimal information was a hassle for them, and they still expected tips for that!
The main restaurant was another disaster: on more than one occasion, I found myself faced with dirty tablecloths and cutlery. There's no justification for such a level of neglect. And if you're thinking of relaxing by the pool, think twice. They not only close it by 6 pm for no apparent reason but also the cleanliness of the pools is questionable, seriously challenging the place's hygiene standards.
What topped it off was that, to receive decent and kind treatment, the hotel "invites" you to purchase their premium service, which grants you the "opportunity" to use facilities from the hotel group.
