+ Es un hotel con historia, clase, y buen servicio. - La antigüedad de las instalaciones le juega en contra en detalles como el de tener un sólo ascensor (y pequeño) para todos los huéspedes

Conveniente
Equipo humano muy agradable y acogedor, camas cómodas, con varios almohadones. Faltan si acaso algún ascensor más. No tomamos desayuno. Ofrecen manzanas y agua al llegar en recepción. Buen wifi. Varios restaurantes en la misma calle para cenar, cenamos en un asiatico enfrente que tenía abierta la cocina hasta más de las 10 de la noche. Desayunos a unos 5-6 euros en la calle o en el centro al que se llega andando. Parking por 7.5 euros a la vuelta del hotel con acceso facilitado por el mismo hotel.

Increíble atención de todo el personal, especialmente de John su concierne, en todo minuto estuvo preocupado de nuestro bienestar durante nuestra estadía, al igual que el equipo en general son todos muy cordiales y amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudar en todo momento

Confortable, next to the train station.
Nice hotel closed to the train station. My room was a bit too cold and had to ask for an heater, for the rest everything was great!

The hotel was in a great location, the staff was friendly and the accommodations were clean. We pub hopped and went to The Cast, Gallaghers and Shelbourne Bar which are all right next door to the Metropole. I’d recommend all three bars! It was a great visit!

Lovely room. A little snug for 2 people but we were hardly in it. Towels were wonderful and the location was ideal. Had dinner in the and it was delicious- the cocktails were amazing! Would recommend- lots of children in the hotel as well and we NEVER heard them! The parking was a little tricky due to traffic but that was our mistake.

Our stay here was amazing! The staff were all incredibly nice and accommodating. The rooms and common areas were clean and orderly as well. I would stay here again without question!

I had an absolutely lovely stay at the Metropole. It being in the city central made everything so convenient. We could walk to the shops, bus stations, and the train station. I loved the smell of fresh flowers in the lobby and our room had some amenities I don’t see often like a heated towel rack.

Was staying in Cork the night before a hospital procedure to avoid an exceptionally early start from home. Needed a bed, wake up call and taxi. Metropole took care of it all and made the experience so relaxing and smooth. I got a great night’s sleep in a very comfortable bed and arrived downstairs to the pre booked taxi. As I had to attend the hospital fasting the option to book a room without breakfast really suited me. Thanks to the team at the Metropole for making my stay enjoyable and comfortable.

The hotel is in a great location in Cork. Lots of pubs, shopping and restaurants in the area. Our hotel room was old, outdated and too warm. I feel very strongly that booking through a third party lands you in a lesser room if differences exist. Dealing with Expedia proved to be a mistake as hotels I booked direct were far nicer. Customer service issues were only with Expedia and not the properties.

Really nice stay at the Metropole
This is a great hotel in Cork. We were told it's the best and I believe it. Everything was great....except....we were literally scammed out of 20 euros by one of the bartenders. At dinner one night, where we odly had at least 3 different people tending to us, one of the bartenders asked if he could take our dishes and did we want dessert. My wife ordered some cake thing and ice cream to go up to the room. He then asked if we wanted to pay so we said yes. He brought over the payment machine and somehow the subject of tipping came up. He claimed that it's better to give cash due to some made up claim. We gave him 20 euro. He walks back to the bar and up to another tender is "snapping" the bill in front of her as in, "check this out". After that we never saw him again. After waiting at least 15 minutes for the takeaway dessert, some guy comes up with the cake on a plate and the ice cream in a bowl. And no fork or spoon. We were irate. My wife approached a wonderful young man named Ian who helped check in also and told him the story. He was trying to give us back the money but we said no, we just want the dessert and for someone to speak to the bartender. Ian asked if he could buy us another round of drinks, we declined. He then personally brought out the takeaway and we went to our room. Not 10 minutes later, Ian arrived with complimentary drinks. He was a really considerate guy. But that bartender was a jerk.

Metropole is in the center of things in Cork. The room we had was small but they did give me a room with a walk in shower that I had arranged prior. It is an older hotel and you can see that it’s gotten a little ruff around the edges but staff do their best to keep it clean and tidy. We ended up getting a rental car and parking was nearly and they validated for a reduced rate. Breakfast was not included. We stayed for a week. A budget friendly hotel.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Nothing lacking. We especially appreciated the thoughtful and attentive staff. One night during our stay we experienced a minor medical emergency: the staff was responsive, helpful and very sympathetic. Everything you would need and want. Happy to recommend this facility - happy to stay here again should our travels bring us back to Cork City!

The Metropole has undergone an impressive restoration and was a wonderful place to stay. We had to navigate the construction on MacCurtain St, but beyond that had easy access to Patrick Street and the shopping districts of Cork. The staff were lovely and the accommodations very comfortable.

Lovely hotel but noise issues worth mentioning.
Hotel location was great, although major road works are currently ongoing at the front of the hotel and start at 7:30am lasting all day. The bins for all the bars on the street were also all emptied from 5:30am onwards both days we were there, so we experienced a lot of disturbance in terms of noise and for that reason, didn’t get the best sleep. In fairness the hotel does tell you this on their website if you book direct, but when booked through hotels.com, it does not which would have been useful. The hotel itself was lovely, staff great and room clean and spacious

Nice hotel, well maintained. Construction in area a temporary challenge (right outside of front door). Valet parking available which is nice. Double room we has was hot, window opened but was against a wall. Our second room was larger with double and twin and river view.

Lovely hotel but noisy
Lovely hotel, room was really hot, had to leave windows open all day. Lots of noise from outside, which the hotel can’t control, we were on the second floor but may be quieter on higher floors. Staff really friendly and helpful, we ate in the Met restaurant a few evenings. Loved Cork but due to the sleep issues wouldn’t stay here again. Such a shame.
