Excellent stay at the Atlantic. Lovely fresh breakfast everyday with choices between cooked and continental. Room spotless and comfortable. Only small down fall was the lift being out of service and we were on the 3rd floor. Apart from that will def be returning in the future.

There was no air circulation whatsoever- no AC or at least a fan. The first room we stayed in 202 one sink kept blocking, and the head board fell as we were getting into bed. Moved to room 205 the following day. The bed had no mattress protection; just an unfitted cover over a pillow top(very concerning and unhygienic). Bar tender was awful not appearing to know what she was doing, and unprofessional. She was never there when we were looking to sit and relax and have a night cap, we had to ask front desk to locate her. Overall the staff at check in; Jamie and Jack who carried our heavy bags to the second floor were super amazing and made our stay a welcome one.

Our stay was short but very pleasant. The let down was that having booked a room with a ocean view we arrived to a balcony shut and no keys available... The room was spacious and on first look clean however a stained carpet and "bedspread" were disappointing. Other then that we would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The highlight of our december stay was well kept pool areas which made up for the mentioned shortcomings

Disappointing and dated
Overall staff were good although I was met with the breakfast staff without cheer - I would have anticipated this was normal except the couple who joined the breakfast room behind me were met with a much warmer welcome and offered drinks and pastries from the buffet which was not offered to me - Breakfast order was incomplete when delivered. Room was average, bed was very comfy and it was quiet although very dated inside. Blinds were inoperable and the shower was terrible. Scalding hot or freezing cold were the 2 options. Drink from the bar was at the high end of the price and had a strange taste, I didn't have another. I had high hopes for this as I normally stay within sight of the Atlantic and thought I'd have a more expensive night.

We spent a week here for our 40th Wedding anniversary. The hotel was fantastic and the food was good even with a limited menu. Spa and sauna were closed due to the restrictions and the lift was out of action. Apart that we had a great holiday. The outside could do with a bit of TLC

My wife and I had a suite for the weekend and were treated like royalty from start to finish.The staff were exceptional under the circumstances of this current virus, and I believe that everyone who goes to this hotel will learn to live in a different but clean and healthy way led by a terrific staff.

The shower was not working, we flagged it and it did not get checked or fixed. One towel in the bathroom was dirty. The bath was also dirty, filled with hair (which was not ours).

Hotel was everything we expected after reading up on the reviews. As usual the prices were a little steep on certain things as all hotels are. The views more than made up for that particular concern. Would recommend this hotel for a visit.

Lovely hotel,great breakfast and service
Lovely stay, staff were all lovely and helpful. We were still able to use the indoor pool by booking a slot with reception which was great. Only slight issuewe had is the wifi didnt work in the evening we checked in but other than that it was great

The hotel has damp in the rooms we stayed in, not an expectation of a 4 * Hotel. The room we booked with a sea view wasn't available on arrival and after 1 night they moved us into a partial sea view. Very negative experience and will not stay there again.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had a good variety and was well cooked. However, The Poolside Rooms do not have WiFi, which was a bit disappointing and the carpark quite small. But overall the hotel was in a very good location and worth a visit but could do with refurbishment in the bar area in the main part of the hotel.

This is a beautiful and impressive hotel and the staff were lovely. It is however in need of some maintenance...very shabby in places. Outdoor pool area was very disappointing, not clean and unswept. Wouldn’t have dipped a toe in. Appreciate its location puts a lot of pressure on the building but this hasn’t seen a kick of paint for some years. Overpriced for the accommodation and don’t think it would get 4* if reviewed at the moment.

Newquay stay.
The hotel was in a great location with a beautiful view of fistral beach and out into the Atlantic ocean.. Our room was on the first floor, with a sea view which was stunning to wake up to. Breakfast in the morning was table served but a great choice of continental or full English. The only downside was the parking, if you come back late you may have to use the car park opposite. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper..

nice hotel shame about the town
Lovely hotel & great views across the sea. Shame we couldn’t get a reservation for dinner in the restaurant, especially being hotel guests. Just a couple of things in the room could have been cleaner (dirty pedal on bathroom bin) especially with coronavirus at the moment. It’s been a long time since we’ve visited Newquay and the town looked run down & full of chavs. It’s a shame you can’t pick up the hotel and put it in a nicer location.

Beautiful Place
Absolutely amazing. Not a bad word to say! The hotel is situated in the middle of everything, & the views are amazing. Me and my partner stayed in the pool side room. What a great choice that was, especially waking up every morning overlooking the sea view. Our room was gorgeous. Big room with 2 separate seating areas. One with a table and chairs and the other being a 2 seated leather sofa sitting opposite the TV which was great as u was just coming back to a hotel with a bed in, if that makes sense. Bed was very comfy also. Lastly with the room the bathroom was amazing, especially the bath!! Breakfast was also lovely. The only different thing was because of covid we had to sit at our table and wait for our breakfast to arrive. The service was a bit slow but its to be expected with the amount of people the staff are having to cook for. But yes breakfast was fab with a range to choose from :) Id 100% come back here! Amazing hotel and lovely staff.

Seaside break
Wonderful position, great views, characterful building - but one or two areas need attention. Good points: +Amazing location with sea views all around, not far from Fistral beach +Loads of character +Wonderful customer service from friendly and smiling staff members +Comfortable beds +Lovely and quiet +Generally clean and tidy +Good breakfast +Fast wifi Challenges: -Water pressure in the bathroom wasn't the best (other hotels big and small can get this right...) -Caps were missing from the shower controls - so although I could operate the shower it required a very firm grip and I had to guess which one controlled the temperature and which way to turn it so that it wasn't scalding. -The bath was cheap plastic and very small - bizarre given the bathroom would have held a bigger bath easily, and at £300+ per night I'd expect something better. -A few very noticeable stray hairs around the shower. -Several large patches of peeling paintwork in the bedroom. -The fridge was switched on but was completely ineffective - basically the same temperature as the room itself. -At over £300/night (bed and breakfast) the value wasn't all it might have been - in particular, I'd expect a better bathroom.

Amy wasn’t happy the water was too hot. Then I noticed that the walls had mould, the Chandler was falling apart and the lights handing off the wall. Porter was useless don’t know where they found him, he couldn’t work the shower either. Crap “sea view” Second night was superb, room was a lot cleaner and spacious, view was a lot better could see the ocean. Downside more gulls

Weekend Covid respite
Have stayed here a few times and in this current Covid climate I have got to say that they have it sorted. Wouldn't hesitate recommending the Atlantic to anyone who wants good quality accommodation and food. Try out the Silk restaurant

A romantic valentines weekend
The hotel is beautifully presented. The staff are so friendly, they really make you feel special. The little touches such as rowe petals on the bed and chocolates helped with the romantic experience. I had a couple of minor niggles in the room which were dealt with professionally by the management, this highlighted their commitment to Excellent customer satisfaction. My only negative would be the bathroom for my room, it had a small shower cubical and very small bath that even my 5’2” wife found a little too small for comfort, personally I would have have been happier to have had a larger bath with overhead shower or a larger shower unit with no bath than having both as separate units. But that is my own subjective view. The bed was exquisitely comfortable, we both enjoyed a restful sleep. The inside pool and spa was ideal to aid in the relaxation. Book in advance for the massage and beauty treatment to avoid disappointment. During the stay, we were hit by a storm, but although you could see the trees being blown and the waves crashing on rocks nearby through the windows, the whole hotel was warm and draft free. The Silks restaurant was amazing, again the staff were brilliant and the open kitchen was well organised, producing exquisite meals. We took advantage of the special valentine service, even though the restaurant was very busy, the service was relatively quick and to Michelin star quality. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning.
