Could not get access - be aware of this location.
We arrived about 6PM after a long day of travel. There were locked gates to most the streets that accessed the neighborhood and when we finally found an access street - the gate to the property was closed and there was a big dog sitting inside the gate. We felt extraordinarily "unsafe" especially because we had two teenage kids. We wondered how we would feel the next morning when we wanted to be up and about to enjoy the day. We had the taxi service reverse route and take us back to a more comfortable location. While we (I suspect) forfeited the pre-paid booking and paid a lot for an emergent location, I suppose that's the price we pay for believing what might be (presented as) a decent place turns out not to be so. I've travelled extensively, and this is the first time ever I have felt so wary about such a booking. We're sorry to the facility managers but that's how we honestly feel and wish it was different but alas is not the case. We cannot truly address the issues of condition, cleanliness, or comfort but the review requires and entry so please ignore those ratings.
Hello Vince. I am sorry that you missed out on a wonderful stay at Suburbian Lodge including heated pool. Sometimes guests mistake our neighbours for us. If you took the time to ring the bell at the gate or you had phoned me, you would have realised that there is really nothing to fear. Observatory is closed off (meaning that most side roads are blocked) we have 4 dedicated entrances into the Suburb which is manned by security guards same as in townhouse complexes. We also have a 3 star rating issued by South African Tourism Industry and get inspected every year to make sure that the property and facilities are correct as advertised. Most guests have can agree that the property and facilities are even better than what you see on the internet.

Homely atmosphere.
Needs improvement on location visibility and signage. There was no hot water could not have a shower. All credits to young owners trying very hard and there is always room for improvement.
