When I pulled up to the property, mattresses and trash were thrown outside the front door. At first, I thought that couldn't be the front door, so I drove around a bit. Nope, it was.
That should have been indication enough that this wouldn't be where I wanted to stay, but I had booked the room, so I went in. Check-in was fine, and I went to my room. At first, I thought it would be okay, a bit dated, but the room was big, so I decided to stick it out. That is until I went near the bed and found a bug in the bed!
That was it. I called another hotel to book a room. When I went to tell the front desk I was leaving, about six people were trying to check in. The front desk person looked at me, frustrated, and declared she couldn't help me. I said I would wait, but she continued to stare at me as if she wanted me to tell her. So I told her I couldn't stay here. She asked why in a gruff tone, and I told her, looking at all the people waiting, I don't think you want me telling you now. She continued to look at me, and I told her - a bug in my bed!
She told me she couldn't do anything and to call the manager in the morning. So, I left. And in the morning, I called the manager, who didn't apologize but told me she had someone come out, and it wasn't bed bugs. Great! Glad to hear that, but I want my money back. After a 5-minute conversation of excuses, She told me they credited my account last night. I would have led with that! It was a horrible experience!
