This property is good but needs some updating. Our room had fogged glass in the French doors to the patio and the doors were in poor shape. I can only assume that most doors on the other rooms are more or less the same.

First time at Omni La Costa; but, not the first time to this area of Carlsbad, Ca. Room decor was up-to-date; but the wing was an older building. Walls between units are thin. Still had a solid nights sleep each night. You will be charged $40-60/night for parking on the property. Street parking is scarce and discouraged. I don’t like this practice. Parking should be included.

Service staff was excellent and attentive and enthusiastic. Room was nice, but being given a room overlooking the parking lot when the resort appeared largely empty was a minus. Would definitely return when there’s hopefully better weather!

The property was absolutely beautiful and the staff was wonderful and extremely attentive. However, our coffee maker was not working, in-room phone was not working, and there seemed to be crickets in the ceiling beam that kept us up at night. I'm disappointed with that because the room cost was hefty.

Water slides with warm temperatures and life guards, beautiful flowers&plants with best holiday decorations, professional staffs with good manners, and amazing customer services such as shuttles and concierge. The first “suite” was terribly generic, worn and smelled bad. They upgraded me to a villa that was much better, but still pretty outdated. The pools, grounds and restaurants were great.

Find another hotel
Not recommend you to stay. When we checked in the hotel around 21:30, the room was not cleaned up so had to go back to the lobby and moved to another room. That made us so tired and stressful at night time. Next day from early in the morning golf course construction noises keep bothering us. So we moved to another room which type is not we booked. Fyi, daily cleaning service is not good at all. Only bellmen service is good. If it is cheap hotel I would take all above inconvenience but it is 4 star hotel. They have to be better than this.

I would never return here
I would never stay at this resort ever again. Terrible experience from beginning to end. I paid over 1,000 for our room. It was completely paid for upon check in. Gabby in front desk asked for credit card for possible damages, but I forgot my credit card and only had my debit card. She explained that if I pay with debit I would not receive the 200$ damages deposit back. After I explained my disappointment in this she proceeded to say “200$ is not much. It’s only 200$” I found the comment to be so out of touch and inappropriate. The other manager Marina was of no help either. I had a picture of the credit card and they refused to help at all. Once the situation was settled all Gabby did was give us room keys. Didn’t explain where any amenities were. Was rude and condescending. We get to the room and it doesn’t have any towels as well as filthy. On our check out date we got scolded by valet parking employee after telling him he never gave us any sort of tag for one of the cars we brought. It is the WORST resort I have stayed at in my life.

When using a debit card for incidentals which is just an authorization hold, the process takes just a few days longer to go back into your account than it would when using a credit card. Nice grounds, old dirty rooms
Grounds of resort are beautiful! The rooms on the other hand are run down, old and has a stinky odor like an old damp rag. They need to invest in some major room renovations for the price they charge is not worth it. Lower class hotel rooms are much nicer cleaner and comfortable. Kids love the water slide, so do some adults, they can get pretty annoying they should have height weight limit as it can get real rowdy when the 200 lb drunk adults are coming down the tube.

Great family spot.
We had a great family stay here - our 8 year old daughter ran laps on the water slide for hours each day. She also had fun at the kids club for a half day during the stay. The place is in preparation for the NCAA golf championships though so we were woken up each morning by tractors tearing up the course right in front of our room - I’d have liked to either know that was happening or had some sort of price drop though - as that definitely wrecked the view/vibe we were going for on this getaway.

Cockroaches and misrepresented room accommodations
Service and food were great however the accommodations were terrible. The room I reserved had a balcony and outdoor patio displayed online. In reality, I had a small window facing a parking lot. The ac didn’t work and had several issues with cockroaches - at least 2 inches in length. Disgusting! Will not be revisiting due to the poor accommodations and cleanliness.
