Beautiful garden, pool area very nice, jacuzzi was close at the time no big deal. Rooms could be a little better at this price range. Nice stay.

La habitación era cómoda y estaba todo limpio. El personal es amable. Solo hay WiFi en el restorán lo cual hoy en día es algo inaceptable. No te dejan entrar a las habitaciones hasta las 14 hs (hora del check in) aún teniendo las habitaciones disponibles.

Buen servicio, a 15 min del centro
Me quede 3 noches en este hotel, es 3 estrellas, las habitaciones son grandes y comodas, algunas estan en remodelacion y se ven muy bonitas. Esta a 3 km del centro y de Papeete. Los colectivos pasan a una cuadra y te dejan en el centro.El staff es muy atento y servicial y te ayudan en todo lo que pueden, sobre todo el chico de la noche "Manuu" .El hotel tiene acceso a una playa de Tahiti de arena negra volcanica y una pileta chica pero confortable.

Pros: the staff were good and helpful. The facilities were up to date and in good shape. The grounds were nice. Cons: the rooms are all spread out over a large property. Some are on the second floor and obviously they couldn't have elevators. The restaurant is not air conditioned. There is really no dining nearby except for lunch. In general, the city seemed run down and not terribly safe.

Tired, old motel like property. No elevators. No one to carry suitcases up stairs. Front desk doesn't answer when you call. Tiny bed pillows. I could keep going...

Dear Ms Kathleen, The Royal Tahitien has no elevator as there is only one floor. We do not have baggage handlers but we are more than happy to assist you in case of need.

I traveled all the way to Tahiti to spread my son’s ashes in the ocean, and this hotel on the Expedia website website said, bask in the sun on our black sand beach. There was no place to lay on the beach, and it was filthy, with trash. I had pre-paid four nights, but we ended up checking out after two nights and moving to the Te Moana. They didn’t have towels for us to go to the pool. I would like to get a refund of the two nights that I prepaid due to false advertisement. The emotional importance of my trip could not have been spent at the royal Tahitian.

Dear guest, We are sorry to see that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have had a big tropical depression right before your stay that caused floods and rivers dumped their garbage on beaches. We had to wait for public services to intervene and clean the beach. We are sorry for the inconvenience beyond our controll.Regarding towels, they are available at the frontdesk. I love the pool. I love the view. It realy needed some up dating. Some tree trimming and bushes. Very out dated. The price was great for no more than we were there it was ok. If you're only staying one night I would recommend it more than that no.

Overall good property, basic but very clean. Quite far from the city centre by busy street.Water front but no view, only in the restaurant. Nice swimming pool and beautiful ad well kept grounds.Food was excellent for lunch but disappointing at the dinner time.

I read reviews saying the property was outdated, but we found the decor quite pleasing. The property is beautiful and staff are kind. We enjoyed the pool, but the steep incline in the pool can be dangerous. It is slippery.

Reception staff ( welcoming) brisk and not friendly. Other days adequate but not very happy to see us. Same in restaurant. Limited Breakfast food and birds flew into our food at table. Ick.

Time for a revamp. Property has the 60’s/70’s feel to it. We chose to stay here to see the black sand beach and it was a nice sight to see. Staff very friendly and restaurant was great as well with free live entertainment! I can’t get over the spaghetti bolognese! Soooo good and we've even been to Italy!

Ok for budget
Stayed on a 2 day stopover in Tahiti. Chose this one as it seemed a decent budget option and, due to flight times Vs ferry schedule, it made sense to stay on Tahiti as we couldn't spend 2 nights on another island. In terms of quality, the hotel was clean but very dated. The staff were helpful (we checked in late and they kept reception open, booked us taxis). We had an issue with our room key not working, but this was sorted immediately. The hotel is just outside Papeete and it took us half an hour to walk from the hotel to the waterfront, although there's not much on the way except garages as it's a main road. The restaurant and bar on-site are fantastic! No more pricey than Papeete, lovely people, live music on the weekend, wide menu and, importantly, great food!

Was hoping to get early check in since I was just staying for half a night till my midnight flight. Staff wanted to charge me an additional nights stay which was not worth it for the few hours. Ended up sitting in the restaurat that was not yet open so I brought in some snacks to hold me over till they open. I promptly got told I can't bring outside food into the restaurant. Terrible experience. would not reccommend.

It is a lovely place to stay . Very quiet and beautiful. Staff at front desk is very helpful. The staff that attends to the rooms never came to my room to clean during my time there. To swim in the pool was a separate charge. Even though it’s apart of the hotel. Not sure why it isn’t included .

Dear Ms Thompson, There is a misunderstanding about the swimming-pool access as it is included in your room rate, there is no additional charges. You could have accessed it during your whole stay. Our sincere apologies about this misunderstanding. regarding housekeeping, rooms are cleaned everyday except if the sign "do not disturb" is in the front of the door. This hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi. The room are average size and nicely finished. There is a nice patio with chairs. The AC is good. The beds are large and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is a little low. There are no USB ports. Bring an adpater. There is a nice pool. There is a small black sand beach. The property is walled and you need a key card to get thru the gate. Grounds are nicely manicured. Front desk staff provide good service. There can be a line at checkout time. Ther restaurant is very nice, good selections and good staff. You need a reservation on some nights because locals also come here. There is an ATM and convenience store just outside the property. If you want to pull towels you have to walk to the front desk.

Good hotel for a good price
I wasn’t looking for a luxury hotel for the price of around a $100 USD per night so this hotel served its purpose well. It helped I had a rental car (free parking), used the beach and the very nice pool they have, and room was comfortable enough and had a hotel safe and fridge so was fine. Only things I didn’t like were the shower and shower head (too low for me as I’m very tall) and only French tv, wouldn’t mind just having CNN or at least one English Channel as an alternative since I only know a little bit of French. I didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment on that either.

This location is a piece of paradise. It has a beautiful garden with a new pool and it is close to a connivence store (gas station) that has all the basic items one may have forgotten to pack. It has a lovely black sand beach. The restaurant is top quality.

The rooms on the first floor were large and had a full fridge, cooktop, microwave and kettle. The beds were very comfortable. The beach is quite limited but the pool was very nice. The grounds were beautiful however the roosters wake up very early. Parking was excellent.

We arrived late and were greeted by an employee. That was nice that they waited for us due to a delayed flight. We had a hard time with communication but got to our room ok. The next morning as we checked out and asked for a shuttle we discovered we were charged for transportation we didn’t take. We looked for our name the night before as we asked for transportation to the hotel but we never saw anyone waiting for us. Our name was not in any of the signs. We only found out that they charged us because we were told they were there to pick us up but we never saw them. We never received any reply to our request to begin with prior to our trip. With that said, the shuttle to take us back to the airport was very accommodating and even took us to do some shopping as my luggage didn’t make it with me. The stay was alright and the breakfast was expensive for only being basically a charcuterie board type breakfast. I don’t think we will ever stay there again though based on this experience.

Jolie nouvelle piscine. Dommâge que le budget n'ai pas été alloué à la réfection des salles de bain... Baignoire ses 60's, robinetterie idem... bref un coup de neuf ferait du bien. Réception du wifi dans les chambres quasi nulle !!! J'ai demandé un réveil à 4h00 du matin pour prendre mon avion, on m'a appelé à 4h20 !!
