Not so bad
The overall experience is not so bad. Firstly, it is very strange that there is no doorman to open the cardoor for you as a five-star hotel. Secondly, the room is big, views are fabulous except the facilities in the room are outdated. The TV is not a smart Tv in a five-start hotel! Very small Tv with no Wifi, no projector, and the image is blurred! There is no bluetooth HI-FI in the room. Thirdly, no one told us at the check in that there is no tooth brush,toothpick, bottle opener ( they have beer in the mini bar but they don't provide bottle opener in the minibar) in the room and we have to call the front desk several times to get what we want. The services are great because we asked them to come several times but they always have good attitudes. We also booked the swimming pool and it was very pleasant experince because it is very clean and quiet.

酒店地理位置很好,紧挨着海河边,风景不错交通也便利。早餐开放时间很长,一直到十点半,无压力,期待下次。

Disappointing Marriott Service
Been visiting the diff Marriott group hotels in the world, this place is mostdisappointing. Firstly my check in took quite a long while about at least 10-15mins wait with no pax in queue as there was only 2 counters in operation at the lobby. I was a Marriott Bonvoy member, but the priority lane was not effective. After entering the hotel room, found the toilet to be covered in thick dust. Housekeeper came and couldn’t comprehend why. He did one round of cleaning but still found more dust at other area in the toilet. I had to call housekeeping another time and left to go out. After returning, still found the toilet not clean up proper after. Locker was not working. Housekeeper assisted to change the whole locker. Shower room wall was dusty too, so can imagine standing in yucky dusty water when the shower water washed the dust off the wall. We went to the lounge to have some cocktail and whisky. But bartender was obviously not interested in making the drinks. Drinks were subpar. Starbucks Reserve in Tianjin served better and cheaper cocktail. Morning Buffet was in a mess. Waitress gave away our table to another group of pax and the cafe was not cleaned up promptly, hence we had to wait for an empty table with food on our hand. Asked for earl grey tea, but after a super long wait, I was given sweet red tea. Tried to change, but the waitresses don’t seem like they understood what is earl grey tea even thou I spoke in mandarin. Concierge service was good. Helpful staff.

Despite being proactive to have asked me if I had any special requests weeks before our arrival, it was disappointing the hotel could not provide the support pillow that was requested. Otherwise, evrything else was in order. A very pleasant location.

Great location on the river
This is a fancy western hotel in a great location. 10 min Didi ride from the train station. There's nice walking along the river or in a shopping/pedestrian area across the street. The breakfast buffet is awesome. There's also a nice pool and gym. Our only disappointment was the bar in the evening offered very weak yet expensive cocktails.

Time for some renos...
Overall the hotel was quite pleasing. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Our floor (6th) had a terrible door in the common areas the entire time of our stay. Our room was comfortable and clean but looking a little threadbare around the edges. Same can be said for the common areas beyond the lobby.

The St Regis Tianjin is a stunningly beautiful building, right on the riverfront downtown. Full of beautiful new buildings. The waterfront is also very clean and an excellent spot for a walk along the river or to the Italian bridge and area. Also boat rides are nearby.

部屋は清潔でした。外部からの音が聞こえる事も無く、快適に過ごせました。朝食のビュッフェはレパートリーが少ないのが残念。英語を話すスタッフも居ます。夜に天津駅まで川沿いを散歩しましたが、街並みが綺麗で楽しめました。

The hotel is beautiful and located right on the river. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The rooms were very well appointed with great bathrooms. The gym was well equipped and in good condition. The pool looked great but did not get a chance to use it. The breakfast area was laid out very well and they have quite a lot of decoration which is a nice touch. The only small negative for me was their white wine selection was not great but I know it is not easy to get much selection of white wine in a lot of cities in China so it did not detract from our visit. I will definitely stay their next time I visit Tianjin.

Wonderful hotel to stay. Nice facility and central location. Walking distance to many places and walking along the river a pleasure. Breakfast was excellent.
