Empápate de estilo británico.
Si buscas tranquilidad y un entorno agradable ese es tu sitio. Es mejor disponer de vehículo propio para poderte mover ya que hasta allí no llega el transporte público. Hay paradas cercanas pero la más próxima puede que esté a unos 800 metros. Temperatura confortable en la habitación, cama cómoda aunque espacio reducido. Los pueblos cercanos son auténticamente "british", merece la pena recorrerlos, sobre todo Woodstock donde se puede visitar el Palacio de Blenheim.

Hotel con encanto
Nos hemos alojado en este hotel durante el fin de semana pasada. A la hora de elegir este hotel nos llamó la atención el edificio ya que es una casa tipo la de la serie Downtown Abbey, con sus ventanales, salones, una finca inmensa... No nos pudimos quedar en las habitaciones del edificio prinicipal sino que nos alojaron en unos edificios que estaban al lado, más modernos y con varias habitaciones cada uno. La habitación estaba nueva, quizá un poco pequeña para 2 personas, el baño bien, todo limpio. El personal del hotel muy amable, ante cualquier duda son muy atentos. El desayuno también bien, tipo buffet y además se pueden pedir algunas cosas para que te las hagan en el momento. El salon prinicipal con chimenea es muy agradable para estar tranquilo al lado de la chimenea (al menos ahora que hace frío). La finca en la que se encuentra el edificio es muy amplia y se agradece poder dar un paseo por alli.

La habitación no estaba ahí
Como a todos los huéspedes, las habitaciones no estaban ubicadas en el precioso edificio. Estaban en un edificio anexó, a 150m de este palacio. Esto no cumple con la expectativa. Las paredes de las habitaciones no están a acabadas. Falta inyesar y pintar. Resumo: mejor no!

El edificio principal del hotel es muy bonito, los jardines estupendos, la atencion de los trabajadores muy buena, el desayuno con poca variedad y desde luego para encontralo incluso con el navegador era complicado,

Amazing looking hotel for a retreat weekend away! Great breakfast but unfortunately couldn’t make most of the dinner.

Good
The hall is loverly, it used it for the food which was nice and in front of a log fire. The accommodation are in halls away from the main building so that was the only niggle really as the walking in the poor weather for dinner and breakfast was a little inconvenient however I would stay there again so not that much of an issue.

Weekend Break
An absolutely amazing stay. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel was everything we could have asked for. The staff were very professional, polite, helpful and friendly at all times. The facilities were 10 outvof 10. The pool, gym and sauna were perfect and extremely clean throughout. Our room in the main hall was outstanding. Stunningly clean, comfortable, facilities were perfect with everything that we needed. We used the gun room bar for lunch which and a few refreshments and again we couldn't ask for anything else as the food was good and the bar was spot on. Our evening meal in the main restaurant was once again absolutely stunning. Our complements to the chef as the food was tasty and perfectly cooked. Once again, breakfast spot on with no complaints what so ever. Buffet style breakfast layout, but the team have gotbit perfect once again. I will be returning 100%

Only issue we had was that we had no hot water for our shower in our room. Had a bath so not too big an issue. Staff handled it very well overall though.

Nice country house hotel in Witney
Great looking country house hotel with nature all around and some beautiful grounds (plenty of free parking as well). Service was very friendly and professional, both in reception and in the restaurant. Had a room was in the main building, I had booked the smallest size and space was absolutely fine for one person. Hallways very nice - room decor maybe due an upgrade, seemed a bit of a mix of various designs. Free wifi and sufficient electrical outlets in the room. Dinner in the brassiere - great service, menu a bit uninspired, food was ok (had a main and a dessert). Only tried the continental breakfast buffet (hot food can be ordered a la carte) which was fine, but unremarkable. Would use again in the future.

Fantastic venue with basic rooms
The main hall is wonderful. A beautifully restored building with wonderful grounds to wonder around. I imagine a drink on the terrace in the summer is a treat, we settled for a December drink in the bar. The rooms aren't so great. We went for a 'cosy room' supposedly an upgrade on the basic room. It was cold and a bit damp but we got to the room too late and tired to mess around with moving. Breakfast was busy but a lovely room to start the day from, particularly on a sunny day.

Beautiful main building and great Casino event. Accommodation was in a modern block a few minutes walk in the rain. No offer to help with carrying luggage and no umbrella system. Room was very clean and tidy but v small and paper thin walls. So thin I could hear every word of the argument people in next room we’re having at 1am! I would return but to a different accommodation block.

The food was amazing, the staff very nice and friendly. But the bedroom was terrible. Very dated, smelly, small and insanely hot. We turned all the heaters off and had to sleep with the window open (in mid December) such a shame because the hotel and grounds are stunning. £6 for a pint is outrageous too!

Beautiful old hall and reasonsble modern annex accomodation. Very well equipped gym and pool. The lnly issue is you do get wet going between the buildings when it rains.

Ein wundervolles Herrenhaus
Bei der Ankunft wurden wir freundlich empfangen. Wir hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer im Haupthaus mit Blick auf den Garten. Den Aufenthalt in diesem historischen Herrenhaus haben wir sehr genossen. Das Frühstück war gut. Es wird in einem wundervollen, historischen Saal serviert. Im Hotel kann man auch zu Abend gut zu Abend essen. Man fühlt sich in diesem schönen Hotel in ein anderes Jahrhundert versetzt, ohne auf modernen Standard zu verzichten. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

I booked a cosy double which was perfectly big enough as I didnt have much luggage. Clean, nicely decorated, firm bed. Staff were friendly, thoughtful and efficient.

It is not great to puddles of watet on the window sill. Nor to find basin taps hard to turn on and off. The heating going off at 10pm and going back on at 7am which woke me from sleep. Perhaps the Travelodge at Burford might be more my scene. Room 437.

The bedroom, whilst advertised as a "double", had the bed pushed up against a wall, in the corner of the room. This meant access to the bed only from one side. Had the bed been centred in the room, or at least allowing access from both sides, it would only have been a "single". Also the bed/mattress had a step in it on one side which was most uncomfortable. Probably had the worst night's sleep i can recall. Doubt we'll be staying here again.

Good stay
Pay and stay in the main house for the best experience. Evening menu not great for vegetarians but adequate for one meal. You'll likely share weekend with large wedding parties. If you stay in the other buildings, they're good value for money if you have the breakfast but can be small and unremarkable rooms. Overall a very good stay close to Oxford.
