Unless you’ve been living in limbo for the past few days, by now you already know that <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> is the newest and most popular craze for reaching the travel industry from wheeled luggage. <\/span>Fans love the game because of the way it makes them go out and explore new destinations. <\/span>The game may even offer some discount promotions at local stores. <\/span>And what does it matter if exploration leads you to capture <\/span><\/span>Poliwags<\/span><\/span><\/em> , <\/span><\/span>Bulbasaurs<\/span><\/span><\/em> and <\/span><\/span>Zubats<\/span><\/span><\/em> ? <\/span>It’s super fun, and that’s what really counts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em> <\/strong> fan friends <\/span>tell me that many of America’s favorite cities are full of <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9Stops<\/span><\/span><\/em> . <\/span>A\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>recent <\/span><\/span>Travel + Leisure<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/a> article<\/span><\/a> showed photos of <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em> \u00a0<\/strong> at the US Aviation and Space Center. <\/span>USA <\/span>in Huntsville, Alabama, and at the Wright Museum of WWII in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some of the most interesting things you can find while playing <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> in some of the most popular destinations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Las Vegas<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas … unless you’re hunting for <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> . <\/span>We’ve gotten a map of <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9paradas<\/span><\/span><\/em> <\/strong> on and around Main Street, and let me tell you, there are hundreds! <\/span>I was surprised to find dozens on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, as well as many others at the <\/span><\/span>MGM Grand<\/span><\/span><\/a> ,\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Planet Hollywood,<\/span><\/span><\/a> and <\/span><\/span>Stratosphere<\/span><\/span><\/a> , to name a few. <\/span>I asked my local friends if they had seen any <\/span><\/span>Pikachus<\/span><\/span><\/em> played poker, but none so far.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Angels<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Most people visit Los Angeles to search for celebrities, but with <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> , celebrities are now <\/span><\/span>Pikachu<\/span><\/span><\/em> and other virtual creatures. <\/span>Users claim to have seen these little characters at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), on the Santa Monica Pier, at the Barnsdall Art Park, at Union Station, and at the Exposition Park Rose Garden. <\/span>An Expedia employee told me that he caught a <\/span><\/span>Pikachu<\/span><\/span><\/em> and a <\/span><\/span>Paras<\/span><\/span><\/em> at The Grove; <\/span>Echo Park Lake is also full of coaches. <\/span>A good place for this hunt?\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The Chamberlain\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a> in West Hollywood (which, incidentally, also has <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> ).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

New York City<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Not surprisingly, New York is full of <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9Stops<\/span><\/span><\/em> \u00a0and much-needed <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9 Balls<\/span><\/span><\/em> . <\/span>What is surprising, however, is that so many of these little virtual creatures are hidden in places that offer players historical information about the city. <\/span>Justin Sablich wrote about these fun lessons in <\/span><\/span>The New York Times<\/span><\/span><\/em> – <\/span><\/span>the article<\/span><\/span><\/a> \u00a0mentions three blocks of the Berlin Wall near MoMA, the architectural designs atop Radio City Music Hall, and statues of historical figures in Central Park. <\/span>Of course, there are some near The Plaza Hotel.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Field Museum? <\/span>Yes. On the banks of the Chicago River? <\/span>Yes. For baseball fans, there is even a <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9Stop<\/span><\/span><\/em> right across from Wrigley Field. <\/span>Another place to consider: The <\/span><\/span>Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park hotel<\/span><\/span><\/a> \u00a0is close to some <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9 stops<\/span><\/span><\/em> within the park, so staying there can be a tactical advantage.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

After knowing the number of <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> you can catch in this city in Southern California, I have to be honest: the exaggerated hunt there is understandable. <\/span>In La Jolla, a neighborhood north of the city, you can find virtual creatures on the beach. <\/span>In the city, some of the best places to find <\/span><\/span>Pok\u00e9mon<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> are the USS Midway, the Gaslamp District, the amazing San Diego Zoo, and the <\/span>local <\/span><\/span>Hard Rock Hotel<\/span><\/span><\/a> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
