After living a year in this city, I am very clear on what are the best neighborhoods in Barcelona or <\/span><\/span>areas to stay<\/span><\/span><\/a> . <\/span>The first thing you have to know is that the also known, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bhas so many things to see, so much to visit, that you can explore it on foot without realizing it. <\/span>Because one thing leads to another. <\/span>From the Barceloneta beach to the Parc de la Ciutadella, from there to the <\/span><\/span>Arc de Triomphe<\/span><\/span><\/a> , if you go up a little more you get to the Sagrada Familia and so on, without stopping. <\/span>However, at bedtime, you just have to define what interests you most in Barcelona to choose your ideal neighborhood.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This would have been my next choice to live in Barcelona if I had stayed … The Born neighborhood is a strategic point between the center and my favorite park in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bthe Parc de la Ciutadella. <\/span>The ideal park for a picnic or a jog in the afternoon, which also has one of the best zoos in Europe. <\/span>If you continue along the Paseo de Lluis Companys you will find the Arc de Triomphe and crossing it is the street that, in my opinion, is the most beautiful in all of Barcelona: Passeig St. Joan. <\/span>It is there where I lived my first months. <\/span>There is more space for pedestrians than for cars, you can see people pass while sunbathing on their benches or eat at Granja Petitbo and watch a game at Snack 55. And there are bars, restaurants and a lot of atmosphere without being so touristy .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What was once the town of Gracia, today is the bohemian soul of Barcelona. <\/span>With narrow streets, restaurants, the best independent designer stores, and especially the biggest party in Gracia (in August), Gracia is the dream of many. <\/span>One of the great inheritances of this city is undoubtedly the architecture of Gaud\u00ed and this neighborhood has the inspiring Park G\u00fcell at its highest point and going down, when you start the Eixample neighborhood, you will be amazed with a work of art still under construction , the Holy Family. <\/span>To Gracia you have to go willing to walk and lose yourself among its streets, it will not disappoint you.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The best neighborhoods in Barcelona to stay – Gothic<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The feeling that walking through the Gothic quarter of Barcelona gives you is a very peculiar one. <\/span>It makes me feel on the set of a movie. <\/span>It is a dream, the most impressive thing is the contrast that you feel when you enter its streets. <\/span>I share my ideal route. <\/span>Start by walking the main and most tentative avenue in Barna, Paseo de Gracia. <\/span>Here you will face the boutiques of the best stores in the world. <\/span>In the street of Tuset are the most \u201cPijos\u201d clubs, that is, strawberries in Barcelona. <\/span>Here the Catalans party. <\/span>Going down you will find the incredible houses of Gud\u00ed, Casa Batll\u00f3 and Casa Mil\u00e1. <\/span>Below is the famous Plaza Catalunya, it is not my favorite but it is an important symbol in the city. <\/span>Parallel to Paseo de Gracia is the iconic Rambla Catalunya. <\/span>The best tapas terraces are here. <\/span>Passing Plaza Catalunya we will finally arrive at the Gothic Quarter, where the impressive Barcelona Cathedral stands at its center. <\/span>In the back street, at night, you will find a guitarist who will steal your heart. <\/span>Walking around you will find the royal square (there is also a good party here) and crossing the Gothic, you will find the Raval. <\/span>A completely different story. <\/span>More urban, more skate, more street art and graffiti.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The best neighborhoods in Barcelona to stay – Para-lel<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Few will share this neighborhood, but it is having a boom for hipsters. <\/span>Nearby you will find one of the obligatory spots, yes, another, Plaza Espa\u00f1a, which faces the Magic Fountain and the Mount of the Jew, that is, Montju\u00efc. <\/span>The Montju\u00efc National Palace is a construction that will leave you breathless. <\/span>If you go higher you will find the Olympic stadium, and nothing more and nothing less than a castle. <\/span>Near Para-lel is the Apolo hall, endless parties and concerts (even on Mondays! “Nasty Monday”). <\/span>A must see. <\/span>Also, if you miss Mexican food a bit, there are the Tacos Tacos, a Mexican restaurant that has good habanero sauce.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When we talk about the beach in Barcelona, \u200b\u200beveryone locates the most famous one, Barceloneta. <\/span>However, it is full of tourists. <\/span>In my opinion, there is another neighborhood that can work better for you. <\/span>In Poble Nou, exactly where La olimpica village begins, you will find the best clubs on the beach, from Pacha, Opium, to Bestial, where before 1 am everyone is free. <\/span>Bogatell beach is very beautiful and does not have as many people. <\/span>There you can spend sunbathing all day in one of the beach bars or go all over the beach on skates, bikes or running, as many do. <\/span>In the center of this neighborhood is my favorite club, it is not a club, it is not a concert hall, it is the Razzmatazz. <\/span>A madness of five independent spaces ready to satisfy any musical taste in one night. <\/span>Before arriving here, go to the Ovella Negra through some reeds to enter the atmosphere. <\/span>The next day, you have to go to Glori\u00e8s, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays it has a market for vintage items at a good price, there are also shopping centers around here and of course, the emblematic Agbar tower.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
