With this morning access, you will unlock the secrets of the ancient Maya civilization as you explore Chichen Itza with an expert guide. Tucked deep in the Yucatan jungle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is filled with the weathered remains of temples, tombs, and pyramids that date back to the 8th century.
Get a head start, waking up early to beat the crowds, and experience Chichén Itzá in the cool morning hours. Follow your guide between sites as you explore the evolution of Maya architecture, from the early Puuc styles to Chenes forms. Admire the looming facade of the pyramid El Castillo, imagine the players of ancient ball games on the site's massive courts, and discuss impressions of the afterlife at the entrances of tombs.
Along the way, uncover how Chichén Itzá was constructed in stages over hundreds of years. Learn how archeologists use it to help understand diversity in a Pre-Columbian Maya world. When you're ready for a break, find a patch of shade at the edge of the surrounding jungle and head back to your hotel.

A really great tour and the only time to go is early morning because the hordes arrive and it is impossible. He driver was wonderful and very smooth so you could nap on the way. The bag lunch was tasty and hit the spot. The guide spent too much time babbling about echo patterns a d math problems. We did not get to see the observatory and had no map which was the tour groups fault.

Frank and Tony were great. I would spend one hour on the tour and 2 hours shopping and taking pictures. 3 hours goes quick. Fyi
