What you can expect

Escape from the hustle and bustle of Mexico City for 2 days discovering the incredible neighboring towns. Drive to Cholula and Puebla, both cities with a colonial history sporting elaborate churches and refined gastronomy. On the second day, discover the silver town of Taxco.

Day 1: Puebla & Cholula Visit 2 beautiful and important cities in the history of Mexico—Cholula and Puebla—each located just two miles from Mexico City. Along the way, catch breathtaking views of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes. In Cholula, admire its impressive Santa María de Tonantzintla Church, a fusion of indigenous and Baroque styles with a gold-decorated interior. Continue to Puebla, the UNESCO-listed “City of Angels” where you can stop for lunch—it's the birthplace of mole—before walking along the historic city center to admire Talavera, the exquisite pottery that ornaments the city's buildings and façades.

Day 2: Taxco & Prehispanic Mine Drive to Taxco, the oldest mining city in America. Visit the pre-Hispanic mine, enter it by means of a mining elevator, and tour it while you learn through a representation of how the ancient settlers obtained the precious materials. Learn about the city's silver history and walk the cobbled streets to admire the magnificent Santa Prisca Church, built-in 1758. Admire the wide range of artisan silver pieces produced by locals.
