Friendly inn.
All staff very friendly and welcoming. Being a pub, not a place for a quiet night at weekends. Maybe some soundproofing measures could be tried. Full english breakfasts wholesome!

Fantastic experience
Honestly one of the pub hotels I’ve ever been in, and that is a lot. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it. Staff and locals friendly, food excellent. So many extras in your room, food and toiletries. Lovely village to spend time in, brewery visit worthwhile. Great attitude towards dogs btw xx

Nice friendly inn in lovely little village. It would have been nice to have been offered a cooked breakfast. Breakfast of croissant and cereal ok but not ideal. Evening food was ave rage. Otherwise all fine.

The beer was superb and the room was lovely. Really comfy beds. Not very disabled friendly but that would be expected given that it is an old building. We would definitely stay again. Don't follow the link on hotels.com , go onto the pubs own website. We ended up 10 miles away in Banbury High St !

The first room we were put in had faulty Bathroom light. Continental Breakfast was poor choice and could only be eaten in the room, not a comfortable situation.

Lovely stay at The Sun Inn.
Very welcoming and helpful Staff. Room was comfortable, with everything as advertised. It was a bit noisy some nights as the rooms are above the pub but you are warned of this and earplugs are provided. Food in the restaurant is very good, with good choices. We stayed three nights. The village is lovely and has good access to the rest of the Cotswolds. Would definitely stay again.

Very good service. Nice little room. Recommend
Service was lovely. Room small but had everything needed. Noise from ACU which was right outside window. Not too much of a problem. Noise from loud music also. I was too tired to be bothered by it. Meal was very good. A huge burger which was delicious.

Very welcoming, managed to fit us in for dinner at late notice, food was delicious (including Saturday breakfast!😊). It fell very homely. The accommodation was spotless and the bathroom was very smartly presented. Excellent shower. Good range of draught beers, gins and other beverages. All in all a 5 star stay.

A really lovely pub. Great, friendly staff. Both the evening meal and breakfast were of outstanding quality. We will definitely stay here again.

Great pub and Inn
Room was pretty small but comfortable and spotless. The lovely Sun Inn staff are open that there may be some noise from the pub… so we were forewarned.. they provided ear plugs… but actually it wasn’t too bad at all. Full English breakfast was second to none-Absolutely delicious!

Everyone was very helpful and welcoming, excellent customer service, lovely food, comfortable room, the village is beautiful. We couldn"t stay long, and felt quite sad when we had to leave.

Room was small but clean and well equipped. Breakfast was continental and fresh fruit and fresh milk avail as well yoghurts. Friendly staff and had food in the pub. Very good.

The property was lovely, the staff were friendly and the room was great. The only downside was that there was no cooked breakfast during the week and there was a lot of noise from the pub until 11:30pk on a Sunday.

Comfortable but noisy
Lovely little inn, however it is above a busy pub. Noise whittled out about midnight. Church over the road rang bells every 15 minutes too which kept us awake. Although this being the case, the inn was lovely and clean, breakfast was nice and bed was comfortable.

Wish I had read reviews first. Supposed to be a nice couple break. According to website when booking, clearly states English Cooked Breakfast.In reality cereals, fruit yoghurt etc provided to consume in your room. Perching on the side of my bed to eat my breakfast is not what i call a nice getaway for £90 for the night. There was one chair in the room, and no table to sit at. Was told English Breakfast only provided together with a table to eat at on Saturdays and Sundays only. Therefore, I could only recomend staying here on a Friday or Saturday night. There is also the issue of checkin time, website states 1400, in room literature states 1500, staff informed us when we arrived 1600, and an email I received from the company stated 1700. Room was fine and bathroom excellent spoilt not being able to sit for a nice leisurely brekkie.

We liked the evening meal which was very nice, the comfortable beds and the friendly and helpful staff but we were very disappointed with the breakfast. It was described as a full breakfast but was only a continental breakfast left on a tray in the room. There wasn`t enough room to eat and only one chair

Short break in good location
Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. Food and drink on pricey side. Due to Covid restrictions, generous continental breakfast provided in room. Pretty village location.

Lovely pub in pretty village. Bar staff very helpful. Menu looked good, appeared to have varied choice. Room- small double No hot breakfast but we did stay during the week so maybe different at weekends. Continental breakfast in room looked good.

perfect small village hotel for any great escape
Meet up with family. They drove from Norfolk and we drove from Lancashire, so Hook Norton looked a good half way place to meet. The sun Inn was perfect. Service & Food was excellent. Bedrooms were small but very well decorated and comfortable, with all the extras you could ask for. We enjoyed a stroll to their local brewery that had a steam engine in action. Then a pleasant walk around the area. Only advice we would suggest, whilst the virus is still around, book in advance any place of interest you want to see.

Stayed for one night, excellent welcome from Becks and her team. Stayed in the family room and it was excellent. Excellent on suite. Breakfast was a continental breakfast which we had to eat in the room, but it was fine, The pub bar served excellent local beer from the Hook Norton Brewery. The food we had was very good served in the bar area. Car parking on site. Be aware check in is 3pm not as described on the website

Fantastic Place!
I got there late so the kitchen was going to be closed when I arrived,the manager told me to ring in when I’m closer and they will have it ready for me. The Manager and staff are so nice,VERY warm welcome. Rooms were really nicely and so much choice for the breakfast in the very clean modern room. I would 100% stay here again! My photos don’t really do it justice!

Had a two night stay to celebrate my husband's birthday. He cycled to the inn and they stored his bike in a outside shed. Looks like it's been refurbished as it's all new looking. Rooms up steep stairs(no lift). Room small with bed pushed up to wall. Large window which looked over the local church, which chimed on the hour but stopped at midnight. Music drifted up to the room but not too loud but we were warned. The best parts of the stay was the staff were fantastic and so helpful even telling us where we could visit. However the food was superb. Best breakfast i have had. Cooked to order with top quality food. Evening meal, with good choice, could not be faulted. Would recommend and we will be back

Thankfully it was only a one night stay but they supply ear plugs in this place for a reason. The pub below is not the issue though, it’s the creaky floors and paper thin walls. We hardly slept a wink due to hearing the noise of other residents. Every step, every movement, could be heard as if they were in your room. We were looking forward to a meal but the pub and our room all lost power and it didn’t return until 2 in the morning so didn’t experience that unfortunately. I’m sure it would have been lovely if it were anything like the continental breakfast, that was appreciated after a rather long and restless night.

Very strange to have breakfast until 8.30 am & check out at 11.....we missed breakfast because we didn’t want to get up so early for a continental breakfast that we easily could have had at 10am, as there was no cooking involved. There was no offer to give us a coffee & pastry to send us on our way....
