The hotel was really nice - fun design, very clean and had all the facilities that I needed. The room was quite small but comfortable and the staff were lovely - they always said good morning and good evening to me when I passed the reception desk. I liked that there was complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits on each floor that was a nice touch. Having the restaurant connected to the hotel (it feels like the same venue but apparently it isn't) was really convenient and the breakfast was nice - a bit sparse compared to other places I've stayed but enough for what I needed and is very photogenic. I was very happy with the general location of the hotel - it's just a few seconds walk to the Jaume I metro stop and about 10 mins walk to the Liceu stop which was very convenient for everywhere I needed to go. The biggest problem for me was how noisy it was. I was on the 4th floor and thought that I'd be insulated from most loud noise but I was wrong. I could hear lots of noise from both inside and outside the hotel (the narrow streets act like an amplifier!) and I had to sleep with earplugs in every night even though I'm usually a deep sleeper. I didn't mind the higher price because of the great location, but the noise would make me hesitant about staying there again; everything else was great.

The great location in the middle of the old town made it also quite noisy during the night. Staff was always very friendly and helpful and we loved the design. 😊

Brilliant location in the heart of the El Born area. Metro at the end of the road. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Very handy to walk to the port, beach or La Rambla area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant attached to hotel was great for a drink or two at the end of a long day walking! Had 1 meal in the restaurant which was very good. Coffee machine, water, biscuits, sweets on every floor was a bonus. Only downside of the location is that it can be busy and therefore noisy. Be careful not to hang towels on the taps that look like hooks at the end of the shower, we managed to turn off the hot water!! I would definitely stay here again due to the location and friendly atmosphere!

This is a decent hotel with an excellent location. The rooms are small. You can hear lots of noise both from the street (which is expected) but also from the hallways (which is unfortunate). The staff was pleasant and was able to get us into our room 1 hour before check-in but also was unable or unwilling to procure us a cab on the morning of our departure and sent us walking 3 blocks with our bags to look for one. The decor is ok and funky but also sort of random. There was a nespresso machine on the floor, not in the room. When they clean daily they just make the bed and change the towels, nothing else. The shower head was loose and kept pushing forward and actually fell off one time and hit me. In the US that would be a lawsuit but in BCN it was just whatever. The final morning the cold water did not work, which was odd. When we told the front desk they said we must have done something to turn it off, which we didn't, so that was also odd. Also the TV didn't really work - it only got 3 channels but they weren't watchable, it was like the three govt national channels, this would have been a major bummer if we planned to watch a lot of tv, but we didn't so it was just mildly inconvenient. Also there's no phone to call the desk to complain about these things, well there was an outlet for a phone, but there was no phone in the room. Overall, a good price but there might be a better option nearby.

Ça sauve
Hôtel très bien situé pour arriver vite à la plage ou visiter le centre historique. La bouche de métro Paume 1 est au bout de la rue, c'est très pratique. Accueil sympathique, en anglais ou en espagnol. Si vous parlez juste français, sortez Google translate. Possibilité de déposer ses bagages avant le check-in de 15h. Il y a effectivement du bruit, c'est normal, on est situé dans LE quartier le plus touristique de Barcelone donc la nuit ça sort. Petit bonus niveau bruit : la Cathédrale qui est à 2 pas sonne toutes les 15 min toute la nuit. Le lit est plutôt confortable. Gros problème d'humidité dans la chambre, pas cool du tout pour dormir et laisse une odeur désagréable. Pas d'aération et éclairage insuffisant dans la salle de bain (lorsque l'on souhaite se maquiller). Le + : café, thé, tisane, bonbons et biscuits disponibles en libre service à chaque palier. Et possibilité de smart view pour la télé, c'est agréable vu qu'il n'y a aucune chaîne internationale. Cadeau d'arrivée : des sucettes et un sac en lin Pas pris de petit dej au vu du prix (il me semble qu'il est à 25€/jour). Connaissant les prix réduits des petits dej possibles en Espagne dans les bars le matin, il vaut mieux aller prendre une viennoiserie et un café sur une terrasse dans la ville qui vous coûtera presque rien.

Awesome boutique hotel with amazing cocktail bar
Awesome boutique hotel in the middle of the lovely Born district. Nice rooms and a fantastic cocktail bar. Coffee machine, sparkling water and sweets free for all in the hallways. Sweet staff and a perfect location. The city sounds are heard, but not a menace. If you need absolute silence during the night, you should stay somewhere else. We will come back for sure!

Axel at your front desk is your absolute greatest asset!!! He was so wonderful and helpful and professional!! I just can’t say enough about Axel!! The hotel bed was very comfortable and there was ample closet space w/2 closets!! The bathroom had ample counter space and great shower pressure, but you do need to bring your own bar soap and wash cloth. The hotel is SO dark that I couldn’t see to put on my makeup in the mornings. The overall darkness gave it quite a dreary feeling. The floors in the shower were extremely slippery so we laid a hand towel on the floor so we wouldn’t fall. Every night there was a tremendous amount of noise right below our room (#101) from the restaurant/bar and also outside. We did enjoy our stay there and everyone at the front desk was absolutely wonderful and very great customer service. The location was superb and we were able to walk to the beach, all the dining and many of the local attractions. The supermarket was 2 doors down. We absolutely LOVED Barcelona!!! Gorgeous city!! Thank you again, Axel!!!!!

Lovely but loud! Very very loud
We stayed for a few nights in January, staff were lovely and the hotel design is lovely and chic. The hotel is very darkly lit but has a nice atmosphere and feel. The room seemed to be an accessible room so was nice and big but it was so loud! The centre of the hotel is a bust restaurant you can hear all the goings on, eating and talking all night. Worse yet the noise from the alleys outside woke us up several times a night. Shouting, banging, clattering and disposing of glass. Not great if you’re a light sleeper but a lovely hotel otherwise. The location is perfect for exploring the most popular areas of Barcelona.
