El alojamiento es un desastre. Las camareras del turno de noche son bordes y secas. La única que se salva, la dueña,encantadora. Las habitaciones muy viejas, la moqueta del suelo muy sucia. El baño helado ,sin calefacción ,no pudimos bañar a los niños. Las cañerías cada vez que tirabas de la cadena del váter sonaban muy fuerte. Es bastante caro y nada recomendable quedarse aquí ni una sola noche.

Not recommendable
Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been. Really old, weird location, beds really uncomfortable and not clean at all. Anyways, I have to admit that it’s run by two old people who are very friendly but looks that is abandoned.

people working there are super nice, we got a full english breakfast included, and the cleaning was correct; worst thing is that we went on match day and its so close to birmingham stadium and some roads so its noisy.

Disapointed with the hotel, only good thing was the bed was ok and the breakfast too. Needs a good update, is more of a bar with rooms upstairs than a hotel of 3 stars… nothing like the pictures

First impressions were not good. No one available to check in. Room was good size but needed a deep clean and walls, doors etc needed redecorating and greasy, unwashed smell greeted us. Bathroom toilet and shower looked clean but rest of it was very dirty and noisy fan going all night. Bathroom door did not close properly or have any lock. Window did not shut and had inch gap blowing wind and noise through it which we had to stuff with towel. No main light fitted so room was dark. No fire safety notices on door and flimsy lock that did not feel secure. Never any staff around even when we reported window, no apology just said couldn’t move us. Very unhelpful and unapproachable. Car park underneath had no ramp so was unsuitable for our car, so we had to park in the street. Very noisy lewd regulars in bar Saturday night made the lounge unusable for us. Ordered just 2 drinks from the bar which they got wrong and was just given a small bottle of wine without even a glass! We were so glad we did not order breakfast as would not have wanted to eat anything from there due to grease, dust & dirt everywhere downstairs. On the plus side, upstairs our room 11 was not as bad as expected from the downstairs and was of a good size and place was easy to find and had a lift although that too had seen better days. Beds were clean and comfy with feather pillows. Although cheap I would have at least expected room to be clean if basic! Would not stay here ever again or recommend to anyone.

Duvet was dirty and the duvet cover exposed the duvet, lighting in the bedroom was poor and absurd, bathroom tap was full of toothpaste stains, shower so small I struggled to get in and out of it, lift not going to 2nd floor to my bedroom

After reading reviews I was pretty worried about staying here but actually it was fine. The room was clean the staff were pleasant, the area is a bit rough but fine. Walkable to digbeth. Beds were comfortable. It’s nice that it has a locked carpark overnight so you know your car is safe. The only negative was that when we got back at 2am our key card didn’t work in the outside door. Thankfully I had taken a photo of the phone numbers on the wall of the pub for the night staff and even more thankfully someone answered the phone and let us in. Would stay again

Booked this for an appointment I had on Saturday so i had somewhere to stay after a 4 hour drive there. Called ahead to check when i could check in, advised when i would be there and they said someone would be there. Nobody there when I arrived, shutters down, NO CAR PARK but listing advised there was one. After 2 hours trying to find someone, i had to drive 4 hours home at 2am. I was distraught, missed my appointment and the worst thing is i can't get a refund. Dont waste your money.

Lets be frank! This is not the Savoy, but you get exactly what you pay for. The room was, on the whole, clean and tidy and had all the amenities that I needed. Could use a touch of detail to attention in some areas (shower could be cleaner) but all in all a very satisfying experience. What set The Royal George apart though, was the staff. Joanne, the evening supervisor, was friendly, chatty and helpful. The Irish lady in the morning (sorry did not get her name) was so helpful and cheerful!

There was a night
The bathroom was not good, it even gave me a cut, which I reported to the receptionist, Then a fire broke out (which was put off immediately) which prompted the fire brigade team to come around and a non stop fire alarm that lasted about 30 minutes. I could not get a decent sleep. Cobweb were also noticed in the room. I just got really tired.

Close to City for half the price
Perfectly acceptable stay, ok it wasn't the Hilton and the room was basic and comfortable, I would say 2*, for the price and location to the city center it was worth it. Staff were friendly, bar and lounge looked nice but didn’t use. Easy to check in and had no issues with the stay. Fresh sheets and a welcoming bed after a long day, 11am check out was a bonus. Parking was safe and secure but limited so get there early. Thank you

The owner was rude and obnoxious, hotel room was dirty, had no light. Shower was not cleaned from previous guests. And it smelt.

When we first arrived we was horrified and wanted a refund .. the curb is about 5inches into the car park at the side of the hotel .. entrance looked scruffy and there was drunken men in the entrance .. so off putting.. staff was so helpful they sorted the room earlier for us I think we was expecting it to be horrendous.. was pleasantly surprised it was clean and fresh bedding in our twin room and it felt safe and away from the pub area…we was exhausted and grateful to rest … had a nice nights sleep .. staff were so lovely and helpful… room a little scruffy paintwork etc but basics were fresh towels and bedding and a tv … for the price I think we actually got a good deal .. even the drunken men in bar area .. were lovely and helpful and polite.. Breakfast was delicious staff friendly and helpful..soooo yes we would happily stay there again …everything looked much nicer in the morning.. breakfast Area clean and cosy … we recommend you give it a try .. lesson learnt.. Never judge a book by its cover ❤️

Hotel was unwelcoming, no reception area, only one member of team was professional, disable/ ladies toilets were unusable doors of toilets appeared to be kicked in, bedroom carpet was dirty, no hot water for shower, no management on site , night porter was rude, constantly swearing very unpleasant man, area not safe will never stay here again would not recommend to anyone

Fine for a quick stop over
Little budget rooms above a pub which is fine if you’re like me and just need somewhere cheap for 1 night. Room looked nice upon entry but the smell of bleach in the bathroom was so strong I couldn’t actually go in there; which is ironic because it hadn’t been cleaned. Toothpaste all over the mirror and the glass and chrome of the shower smeared with soap and shampoo stains. Toilet looked ok so that’s probably where all the bleach went. Bed was comfortable and TV had Netflix access (with your own account). Few staff members I spoke to were friendly. Be cautious of location, Digbeth isn’t somewhere you want to walk alone at night.
