We are so sorry to hear about your stay. Like all hotels in California, we are a no smoking property. We would have contacted your neighbor had we known about the issue. We have not had any complaints regarding the fireplace in the room you occupied but have dispatched maintenance to check it out after reading this. We handled the cancelation at the front desk while you were with us. When booking with a third party it is the guest's responsibility to cancel, though we intervened on your behalf.
