Surprisingly good!
Good walkable location in the fascinating part of old town. This is a perfect stay to step back in time and stay in a piece of history.

The hotel has been beautifully restored. Our room with two queens was really big because they took a wall out to make a larger room when they renovated. The bed was excellent, very comfortable. It was very quiet and nice. Walked to a super cute breakfast spot and historic museum downtown in the morning. Loved this place!

Dirty bathroom, bathroom fan was the loudest I have ever heard. Overall dated. Lounge staff was lacking and overall just middle of the road. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was amazing and so generous and helpful. The rooms are beautiful as is all of the property. We cannot wait to stay here again. Thank you to lady who checked us in and was so kind and understanding. Traveling with a group can be a challenge!

Decent hotel for what it is but the rooms are not comfortable. Very old hotel and there is no air coming into the rooms so in summer I would avoid - staff was very nice and it is a cool building it is simply old and for the same rate you can get a much more comfortable hotel. Old is cool I loved that part but it just lacks in amenities and as an example my tub backed up every time I took a shower. Anyhow overall I would avoid.

The hotel has old world charm with excellent front desk staff and very good amenities including morning coffee, an on-site bar, vending/ice machines and an elevator. The parking lot was being resurfaced while I was there but there was plenty of street parking available.

We wanted to stay in downtown Butte, and try an old historic hotel to get the full effect of our visit. It turned out to be very rewarding.

We had originally booked the Finlen Hotel two weeks in advance, but a day before our stay we were notified the Hotel was overbooked and they put us in the Motor Inn section. It was a huge disappointment for us. However the Inn was nice and clean it was not where we wanted to stay.

Mark, Again my apologies for the issues with the rooms and the over-bookings we had. Next time you are in town I will personally see that you get a great room in the historic hotel.

I grew up in Butte but never stayed here. What a beautiful building, and the area is looking better all the time. Several great restaurants within walking distance.

Historical hotel, in historical district. Stayed in the "motor inn" part. Old school place, lots of character and in walking distance of a lot of places. Sparkys Garage, great food/beverages. Brisket was fantastic. Two different trolley ride. One is historical through town. The other tales you up to "Lady of the Rockies". Both a must.

Better back in the day.
Small outdated rooms (although clean). Air cooling unit was extremely loud. Although they list a lounge, the server wouldn’t serve us (private party). A positive… they had a plug available to use own ev charging cord.

lots of style points for being a retro motel but very poor room design, old worn out furnishings, threadbare towels, and a loud sad window air unit that sucked in smoke from the outdoor smoking area. Didn't get much sleep, and even though the people were friendly and the Cavalier Room bar was great, we won't be back

Vi hadde rom i motelldelen, og rommet var rent og romslig. Veldig god seng. Rent bad med godt trykk i dusjen. Fint med speil med god belysning ved siden av «kjøkkenkroken» i tillegg til godt lys på badet. Mulighet til å ha åpent vindu med god myggnetting (deilig å slippe aircondition). Hotellbygningen bærer preg av fordumst storhet. Godt vedlikeholdt staselig lobby, men resten av området (bar osv) virket forlatt og var ikke åpent da vi var der. Hyggelig dame i resepsjonen.

Bummed we were in the motel part
Didn’t realize when I booked we were in the motel part and not the main building. Thought that should’ve been made more clear. Inside reminded me of a jail cell type atmosphere but it was clean. Thin walls for sure and a very tight parking lot for larger cars.
