It was pricey for the night
But it was clean and just a place to sleep…wanted to stay somewhere close to our friends. It was a newer hotel so expected friendlier staff and no uniform, everyone was in regular clothes? We checked in late and called earlier in the day to make them aware. We ask for late check out as we would be back to the hotel late and wanted to sleep in before heading on our drive home. Well.,. With the barking dog across the hall we heard off and on then we were woken up with housekeeping banging on door and trying to get in the room not once but twice. We had late check out!!!! As per the night before, person at desk told me when we went for breakfast to make sure it was fine at the deck as it is up to housekeeping. So we were sleeping in no breakfast and I called the front desk at 930 am to make sure it was okay for the late departure and he said yes no problem.
Was woken up again by the dog barking… then at 1040 am housekeeping knocked and then tried to get in… I called downstairs again, he said we told them you were late departure… then we tired again to go back to sleep and again 1120 am housekeeping knocking and tried to get in. We gave up and got showered and ready to start our day!
It was a waste to adk to stay later to sleep in as we never had much sleep since being woken up after 9 am.
We have stayed in much less inexpensive hotels and never had this problem. Better communication is a must. As we should have been able to sleep in.
