I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. This time, I arrived before check in time and was charged $50 to check in early. Never heard of such a thing. Any other hotel would simply let you check in if your room was ready. I won’t stay here ever again. That is just highway robbery.

The hotel has a convenient location and boasts friendly and accommodating staff, which was a positive aspect of my stay. However, there were noticeable shortcomings that affected the overall experience. The worn furniture and lackluster cleanliness were areas that certainly could have been improved upon. Furthermore, the discrepancy between the appealing room photos online and their real-life appearance was somewhat disappointing. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel still provided a decent accommodation choice. With some enhancements in maintenance and presentation, it has the potential to elevate its standing and offer a more satisfactory stay for guests.

The suite itself was nice, with a bedroom door that closed, very spacious. Sofa bed mattress was cheap and not comfortable. Great for an extended stay if you don't need the sofa bed No one at the front desk 90 percent of the time. It's pet friendly and there were all kinds of fragrance around the hotel, to mask the pet smells maybe. Carpet in halls looked worn. For some reason the elevator was at one of the hotel, very long walk to our room at the other end.

Heart of Central Lake County
Sonesta provided the perfect go between, between Mundelein and Gurnee and Carmel. I was in town for an event and stayed out to make it more convenient. Sonesta is about a 10 min drive to Mundelein Metra (straight down US 45). Room was comfy with a kitchen to make your own food or to keep food and drinks refrigerated during the stay.

Everything was exactly as you would hope for a hotel stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, peace and quiet, spacious rooms, and a decent price.

Outstanding - we'll be back! We brought our dogs along; we were assigned a 3rd floor room, well away from elevator & traffic - the dogs weren't bothered by odd noises in a strange place. BEST place we've stayed with the pups (even though they forgot to give us the 'pet amenities' mentioned on their web site).

One of my favorite stays
Clean appearance from the entrance, through the corridors, elevator, and the room itself. The bed was clean and comfortable. Both front desk staff members (evening and next morning) were very nice. I chose to stay here for two reasons: 1) I read good reviews previous guests had written; 2) I saw that Sonesta management replied to each review to thank the reviewer, comment on the reviewer's topics, and to address any poor experience the reviewer noted (and apparently I didn't see any poor experience that would make me not want to stay here). My family and I had a very nice stay and would certainly stay here again.

Nice hotel.
The hotel stay was good. The staff was nice and the room was clean. I liked that it had its own kitchen in eaxh room with pots, pans, plates and silverware. Also had a dishwasher to wash everything.

the true highlight of my stay was SUCH great service - definitely the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. Delaney was especially so sweet! I had a bit of trouble getting into my room due to the battery in the door lock being finicky, but Delaney was ON IT and switched my room, even following me to it to check if the door opened properly. Rooms themselves are super spacious & clean, and I felt very safe in the building and the area surrounding it. Beds are very comfy. 100000 stars all around, I’ll definitely stay here again!
