The roadworks on the motorway that take you to the exit junction are horrendous, stay in the left lane as soon as your map's tell you it's approaching. I had to come off and go back on myself, glad the bar was open when I arrived!

Cannot fault this hotel or the staff in any way! Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, decent food and extremely affordable. The toiletries were of a decent variety and lovely too. After reading some rather horrifying reviews, I found myself looking for such faults. However, i didnt find a single one. Will certainly return and use the hotel again if travelling in this area.

I booked an executive double room but it was identical to the standard double room I had at the Dragonfly hotel in Ipswich the previous night. It wasn’t an executive room. The room is reasonably comfortable but when I have booked an executive room in the past it has more room and bigger desk etc.

Not the best place to find.
It was fine, although not the best place to find if you don't know the area and it's dark. We missed the turning off the slip road and then couldn't turn around as we were on to a dual carriage way with no immediate roundabouts. It took us at least 15 miles out of our way. There needs to be a sign or make reference to what signs are there. The other points to make are no mention was made about having to register for parking, or offer of a WiFi password.

Overall very good value for money
Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. The cooked breakfast could have been better and also the coffee but overall very good value for money. My only gripe was the internet access which you can only access by filling in a form with a lot of personal details that you must agree can be used by others for marketing. There was no opt out option. So I decided to do without. I feel that internet access should not come with added price/conditions.

No main light in the room - only had lights in the bathroom & 2 small bedside lights so the room was really dark. There should have been a light above the mirror in the room but this didn’t work. Main shower in the bathroom also didn’t work - had to use the smaller shower head. Walls were paper thin - could hear someone in a neighbouring room snoring and then what sounded like choking & making the strangest noise all night which wasn’t very pleasant. Plenty of towels & breakfast included which was nice.

Breakfast very little food left no coffee on one day. Sent back food in evening not eadable. Waited 1 hour for main course. Asked for room to be serviced. told only serviced after 4 days. Had clean towels left outside room. Very disappointed. Will never use again

Clean comfortable hotel
Lovely clean hotel, can check in electronically on arrival but receptionist there to help if needed. Stayed one night for business, comfortable only one thing missing was a hairdryer. Would stay here again

Good accommodation
Warm welcome from reception, Room comfortable and clean, bathroom fan a bit noisy as it runs continuously all night, duvet a bit heavy for the weather. Breakfast OK, but nothing special. Good to have a car charger on site for a top up. Would use chain again.

Disappointing
Very disappointed with our stay this time . We have stayed here 5 times in the last 10 years and this time we really noticed the place is run down . Our room was quite grubby and mouldy in bathroom and above window in bedroom. The staff at the hotel are amazing very accomadating and hospitably can't fault the staff at all. We had a 5 night stay and the housekeeping team didn't really want to oblidge us with cleaning our room we only asked for this once in the 5 nights. Not sure we would stay again would have to be convinced there have been major upgrades first

Could do better.
Dining area very tired, could do with a lick of paint and a bit of life put back into it. No plug sockets next to bed, can be an issue if you need to plug a medical sleeping machine. Morning breakfast, lack of variety. Would be nice to see a smile on a member of staffs face.

With a late check in, the staff seemed tired and didn't offer much in the way of a welcome. Very clean place. Self check in has taken away some of the charm

Dirty room, bathroom clearly not cleaned, stains on walls and floors, poorly maintained in general. Never saw any staff as apparently it is self check in and checkout… which takes longer and is much more inconvenient than a normal checkin. Would only stay here if truly desperate.

Een goed verblijf voor laatste 2 dagen van onze UK vakantie. Ontbijt is optie voor 12 pond pp. Hebben er voor gekozen om onderweg naar bezienswaarigheden maar wat vers brood, melk en beleg bij supermarkt onderweg te kopen. Restaurant met genoeg keuze voor een diner Genoeg parkeerplaatsen 20-25 minuten afstand rijden van Harwich ferry terminal

This hotel was absolutely fine though it didn’t have air conditioning there was a fan in the room. Breakfast was fine ( buffet) . The only issue I had was that there was no discount on the electric car charger for guests.

Where do I start!! The room was comfortable enough although apart from hanging space had no drawers for clothes etc. Then we were told when we went yo book an evening meal the restaurant was close due to no staff, but were reliably informed this would not affect breakfast. How wrong they were. 1 member of staff cooking, serving, clearing, answering the phone. So food was short waiting was long, all in all unhappy customers. This was then repeated the next day!!!

Such a shame that although i imagine the room was fairly recently updated there were no electric sockets near the head of the bed so you can use phones that are charging when in bed. Surprised that there was no lift of any sort. As a temporary slightly disabled person i couldn't request a ground floor via Expedia The receptionist did try but nothing was available.

Our stay
The hotel was very clean,the food was ok but sat in large pots was a bit dry and bit sparce we only had breakfast there. I felt sorry for the member of staff not only was she manning the bar but also recepton front house restaurant and dealing with queries bless her.

Disappointing that the restaurant wasn’t open every night as the hotel is quite a way from amenities. The closest hotel was booked out for dinner as it was Fathers Day so we ended up going to a sub-standard fish/chip shop. Comfortable bed but the bathroom needs an upgrade, the water took a long time to go away in the sink. No drinking glasses in the room.

Dreadful. DIY checkin and checkout, what’s the point of staff? Dirty bathroom with blocked sink. Car park riddled with potholes. Ground floor windows easily accessible from outside.
