“The family is so friendly! They greeted us upon our arrival even though it was raining really hard. The cabin we stayed in was perfect. It had everything you need and it was super private. The view from the bed was a $1M view. You could actually see the ocean from the top of the mountain. And you have to do the tour of the farm. It was absolutely worth it. What an amazing family and such rich heritage. I highly recommend. And super close to a cool town.”

The farm tour included a visit with all of the animals and their unique, charming personalities, including Frijoles the pig and Confite the dog. “Our stay was a return to traditional Costa Rican farm life as it has been for generations. As a Costa Rican/ US family we really enjoyed our stay. We had a wonderful host in Don Carlos. “Hidden down a dirt road awaits a rural escape. This was a great place to stay, comfortable, private and surrounded by nature. The location is only a 15 minute drive to La Fortuna and a 5 minute walk to the grocery store. Our Host responses were prompt and we highly recommend.”

“We had a great few days at Finga Manclar. The staff looked after us very well. We went full board and we had excellent local food. We also did most of the trips with Luis which were great fun - tubing, fishing, mangrove tour, waterfall, horse riding. Rooms don't have A/C but the fans were good. “We enjoyed staying at the farm with our two kids while exploring the Monteverde area. The house was simply, but artistically decorated with natural log-plank furniture and murals of local wildlife. The farm dogs made friends with our kids, even our son who tends to be scared of dogs! Yes, it was rustic, but clean and welcoming!
