Cozy room
The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly and there was a nice selection of snacks and breakfast items in our room. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and the bar was good too. Our only complaint was that there was no WIFI for our entire stay which made it difficult for planning some activities due to the fact everything is booked online these days.

After the Edinburgh bypass, a very welcome overnight stop off. Wonderful welcome & a good pub grub refuelling! Check the Soutra Aisle site 2km south - v poorly maintained - but a fascinating story of the start of medieval medicine leading to Edinburgh's strong medical school background

Very nice stay
Fresh and beautifully decorated with clean, comfortable bedrooms. Fabulous reasonably priced food in their restaurant. Staff very welcoming and friendly towards us and our dog. Easy drive distance to Edinburgh. Bit of road noise but definitely a great spot for a short stay.

Very nice Inn/rooms
Very warm welcome from Tony, this Inn has only 3 or 4 rooms, but it was very comfortable. Slightly unusual in that breakfast is continental style in the room, a platter in the fridge and the rest on a tray covered in clingfilm, so virtually fresh. I also dined in the restaurant, and had a very pleasant meal. Recommended as a short stay travelling to Scotland, but outside a town centre, I was on my way to Edinburgh but this was much better value than staying there.

Definitely worth staying here if in the area!!!
Had an excellent stay. A beautifully presented inn with gorgeous rooms. Very nice friendly Inn with nice walks and great location. Would loved to have stayed for a meal but was going to a nearby wedding and no time . But will definitely be back. Thanks to the owners enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous, refurbished Inn, Family run, in an excellent location, restaurant & rooms. Good food, easy access to Edinburgh by car or bus. Lot of beautiful scenery and historic places around it.

day 2 of capital trail to the best pub hotel ever
the owner was great, so welcoming and couldnt do enough, we were bike packing and the stored our bikes too, the food was great in the evening and the room so well done, great decor and bathroom, breakfast was set up in the room and perfect, couldnt fault it one bit

We were more than happy with the Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and very well decorated. The breakfast left in the mini fridge was appreciated as was the muffins. We would stay again.

Great B and B / public house. Amazing staff, friendly and helpfull, rooms are great clean and all the bits you will need. The dinner food is fantastic, good size portions, good fresh ingredients, and cooked superbly.

Disappointing stay.
The Inn was clean and the room looked nice. The bed was comfy but the pillows were terrible and I woke in pain because of this. The windows weren't adequate to stop the noise from the lorries on the main road. Breakfast was really disappointing. When it said breakfast was included at an Inn we expected a cooked breakfast, or at least a continental in the dining area but sadly all we got was the choice of a porridge pot or weetabix in our room as a main choice. There was a cheese board in the fridge but this wasn't sealed properly and the bread and ham weren't great because of this. The yoghurt was fine but as I was eating it with the blueberries that I had poured in I got the flavour of a blueberry that had gone off and couldn't finish it. To top it all off we couldn't get WiFi to work at all and when we asked we were told there was nothing they could do as it wasn't very reliable. Maybe this should be mentioned before people stay as it was really inconvenient. I don't think this was worth the money to be honest and we have had better service from small B&Bs that have been half the price.

Recommended. Clean and Friendly
Property on edge of A68 but rooms are double glazed and traffic noise not a noticeable problem. Don’t be misled by the exterior of the property (it’s work in progress) the inside is lovely. It’s clean and modern with lovely furnishings and fittings. Continental breakfast is provided in the room (refrigerated) and consists of cereal, porridge pots along with small Kilner jars of fresh fruits, yoghurt and granola with bottles of fresh milk and fruit juice. A platter of bread, cheese and wonderful home made chutney was also in the fridge which nicely hit the spot on arrival! The room had everything we needed including a spacious and hot shower. The bed was comfy but only thing that was not quite right for us was the pillows but appreciate they might have been ok for some. We ate on both nights in the Juniperlea and the food was good. Not fine dining but a menu to suit all tastes and nicely cooked. The waiting staff deserve a special mention as they were friendly and personable. We travelled with our spaniel dog - the pub is dog friendly. Overall would definitely stay again if passing that way.

Lovely inn
Lovely stay, beautiful room, clean. The only complaint the restaurant was closed Mondays and had to go out for a meal. Everything about this inn is first class
