Northwoods beauty
Charming rustic cabin that is just modern enough. Plumbing, electricity, heat and a gorgeous lake. Cozy place to just nap, read a book, take a walk or head in to Ely for dinner. Jeff is a handsome off landlord. He figures if you want info ..... you'll ask. Otherwise you rarely see him. Loved my time here. Didn't want to go back to the real world.

Great Cabin!
Great place to stay and unwind. My family and I really enjoyed the cabin and all it's amenities. Jeff has thought of everything! Best supplied place I've ever stayed at! Very relaxing, and Jeff and Honzo were great hosts! Really enjoyed the fireplace and all the wood provided, and kindling too! My wife and son really loved the cabin also. Jeff was kind enough to share his boat too, along with fishing advice! Awesome stay, and really had fun, and loved the fire pit outside too!

Perfect log cabin for recharging.
The photos online do not show the charm of this property. Jeff was super helpful and his dog, Hanzo was so sweet. We would definitely stay here again! It is a great place to get away and recharge - it is a real jewel.

Cozy, Quite and Comfortable!!

Tranquility
The Cabin is an authentic log cabin from years gone by. The cabin is rustic and the furnishings are eclectic and more than fill the small space. There is not much cupboard or drawer space for your belongings. The bookshelves are filled with interesting reading material regarding the area and it’s mining history. There are flowers in handmade pots gracing the outside of the cabin and vases of fresh cut flowers throughout the cabin—a nice touch seldom seen in most cabin rentals. The owner was onsite upon arrival to explain the little nuances of the cabin and responsive to phone calls, but not to texts. Hanzo, the owner’s dog, was quiet, but exceedingly welcoming. The location is off the beaten path and perfect for anyone who enjoys the solitude of a quiet lake and peaceful wooded surroundings. With each passing day comes a greater appreciation for the tranquility found in this special place in the Minnesota Northwoods.

Cabin had everything
The cabin had everything that was needed. Jeff let us use a boat and that was great so we could explore the lake. Things were clean and you could find what you needed. The host’s house is very close and although we had space, we didn’t realize it would literally be feet away; which made it feel less private than we would have liked.

Great cabin!
We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. We used it as a base camp for day trips into the BWCAW and exploring Ely. The host was gracious and helpful. Having Hanzo( the dog)'s enthusiastic greetings added joy to the stay :)

Pleasant cabin with character
We enjoyed our stay with our dog - and Jeff’s dog Honzo, who is a charmer! We enjoyed reading on the dock and Jeff lent is his canoe for a paddle on the lake. Jeff’s cabin is well outfitted for a one room place - even had fresh flowers. It’s not far to Ely for groceries.

Great little Retreat off the beaten path.
This was our second time staying, and we plan on coming back. Jeff was very accommodating and resourceful knowledge of the area. Very quiet location with lake access and plenty of wildlife to see. This time of year was really bad for the mosquitoes but we were able to spray so we could grill out and have a campfire for smores. The only thing you really need to bring is food and clothes, the cabin is well supplied. Thank you Jeff for the amazing stay and hope to be back soon. Darrian, Tiffany, and Bucea.

Ely Getaway!
We had a wonderful time making memories here! Jeff was a great host as well as his dog Honso. The cabin is cozy with lots of historic north woods nostalgia. Jeff is also a great resource for fishing tips and has a lifetime of lake knowledge. We will definitely return!

Relax and Recharge. Will DEFINITELY be staying again!
The White Iron Haus was everything we were looking for in a quick getaway. The cabin was warm and toasty with the -20 below weather. It was very cozy and loved the decor. The option of having the fire place or propane heat was great. It was great to have indoor plumbing with hot water, definately a plus. The cabin is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, and toiletries. You only really need to bring yourself, clothes, and food. The host, Jeff, was great. He made sure we had enough wood for the fireplace and the drive way plowed. He is very knowledgeable about current events in town, the boundry waters, and overview of the land. Despite the cabin being close to his home, we felt there was enough privacy by how the property is set up. We will definately be staying again once it warms up some.

Amazing cabin in the north woods
Absolutely delightful stay in a magical location. Super warm and cozy. Our two pups loved it too. Jeff was interesting and full of great stories, super attentive but gave us plenty of space too. We loved every minute and will definitely be back!!!!

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend in this cozy cabin on beautiful White Iron Lake. Jeff the owner is great! He is very helpful and friendly. Honzo the dog was very friendly also😊 The cabin is cute and cozy and is exactly what we were looking for for a relaxing weekend away.

Beautiful area, quaint little cabin
A great area to visit. The cabin is close drive to town but set in the woods on beautiful lake. The cabin it's self is quaint and homey, nothing fancy but has everything you need and perfect for a couple. It was clean and comfortable, quiet and very relaxing. The owner met us there to explain where everything was, how it worked, and if we needed anything. Great hospitality and even had a nice fire going in the fireplace when we arrived. We definitely would go back.

Great Cozy Cabin
The cabin location and property was great. Jeff was very nice and accommodating host. The cabin was nicely equipped for the time we had there. Lots of wildlife in the area as we would set out each night to see the different wildlife. There is also many different hiking trails and lakes in the area. We will return soon.

Quaint and cozy!
This cabin is adorable! Small and cozy, but roomy enough for two people and a dog. The bed is incredibly comfortable! Both of us had the best sleep ever. The stove didn't work so well, so we had to get creative with what we planned to cook, but other than that the kitchen was well stocked. We explored four different state parks while on this trip.

Great cabin/location.
This cabin is so quaint yet has everything you need to be comfortable. We enjoyed meeting and talking with Jeff and our dog wore himself out playing with Honzo. Would highly recommend this place.

Stay at Cabin on White Iron Lake
The cabin is located in a stunning area and my wife and I enjoyed our 4 day honeymoon here. Jeff, the property owner is a nice man, but be aware that he lives about 30 feet from your front door and is in no way shy to stop by and chat for a while. The cabin could have also been cleaner and it wasn’t ready for us when we arrived at 5:30 (over an hour after first check-in). Overall it was a nice stay but some more privacy and some improved cleaning would go a very long way.

A wonderful balance of rustic, north woods charm, and modern day conveniences that make it the perfect Basecamp for Ely area adventures. After a long day of play, the cabin serves as a peaceful retreat with beautiful views of White Iron Lake.

Homey and Rustic
This little cabin is an out of the way spot for r&r. Jeff and his dog Honzo are wonderful neighbors. Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its history and you can't go wrong with any of his suggestions. Our pup and Honzo got along wonderfully. We enjoyed our stay at this authentic log cabin. It's located right on a lake and is very quiet at night, while still being just a short drive to downtown Ely. Jeff is very knowledgeable of the area's history and happy to chat. The cabin provides a lovely retreat!

Sweet Log Cabin
The sweet log cabin, built in 1962, was furnished with antiques. It was fresh, clean, and inviting with many added touches, such as beautiful bouquets of wildflowers everywhere. Much pride went into this family built home. The setting was at the end of a road surrounded by little "meadows." A couple paths lead down through the birch and ferns to the lake. Our dogs loved it. Adjacent to the log cabin is a carriage house sometimes occupied by the owner who respects your privacy. He often was fishing or motoring out to a family owned 40 acre island in the lake. It was a pleasant restful mini-vacation.

Jeff was really great, we had full use of his boat and kayak and canoe. Very informative about the events going on in town. Hanzo was my favorite host ever. Love his sweet doggy ❤️

Wonderful, clean, one room cabin (excluding the bathroom with shower) with a working fireplace on a northern MN lake! As tent campers this was quite the treat. We still get connected to the outdoors while having some creature comforts. Jeff was an amazing host, giving us a great amount of local knowledge.
