I read some bad reviews about the guest house so went with an open mind. However the guest house was lovely, clean and warm with plenty of tea and good quality coffee. It's situation to public transport links was brilliant not that we had the chance to use it as we were only there for 1 night. We were there as attending a funeral, the owners let us use the car park all day which was invaluable on this occasion. I will definitely use this guest house in the future. The only improvement I could suggest would be to have a breakfast option.

The location was good, We wanted to see the Great Tapestry of Scotland. The room was very small, however, tea and coffee makings were on the floor. No breakfast though it is called a B and B. Checkout at 10 a.m, earlier than the usual 11 a.m.

Very friendly staff combined with being directly opposite the train station makes Monorene an ideal base for exploring the Borders and Edinburgh alike!

I booked this property for my Husband to stay in for work as it was the cheapest around. You certainly do get what you pay for. He had a tiny room with a single bed and a sink that close to the bed he barely had room to manoeuvre. He was outside talking to another guest and was asked to be quiet as not allowed to make noise, thats fine i can't disagree about noisy people but they were talking not shouting. The bed was the cheapest of cheap that he barely slept due to it being so uncomfortable. If your going to put guests up the beds need to be top quality. He will definitely not be staying again

Break Of Journey in Galashiels
A comfortable stay on a Sunday night to let me get to Edinburgh in good time on Monday. I travelled by car but noted how close this accommodation is to the rail and bus transport hub, and an easy walk across the nearby bridge, to the main street. Note that breakfast is nit provided at present, but is available in town.

Disappointing and Overpriced
It suited our needs but was not worth the money. The furnishings were tired and facilities were limited (I’ve never stayed anywhere without shampoo and/or shower gel provided!).

Friendly greeting with loads of advice about the area. The twin room was clean and met our needs for a quick stay. It may have been a little bit cramped if we had been staying longer.

Very nice place opposite the train station
You can see the guest house when you step out of the train, so location is perfect and central. Very friendly personnel, upgraded my room from single shared bathroom to twin suite because it was empty. Tea and snacks waiting and everything nice and clean. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Good location, clean and comfortable
Clean and comfortable room. A bit costly for a non ensuite and no breakfast accommodation. Close to the town centre and transport hub so ideal location if using public transport and exploring the town.

Superb location
Great B&B in a fantastic location next to the station and just across from the Main Street. Hosts were very accommodating, gave great local knowledge on recommended places to eat and drink, and even got a free upgrade to the family room. Full Scottish breakfast was a great way to start a slightly hungover morning - cereal available too. Would highly recommend and already booked to come back later in year!

Yes, stay here.
This is a good choice if staying in Galashiels. Central position, easy walk to eating places. Warm and very clean. Friendly host. Individual breakfast.
