Lovely privately owned hotel, comfy bed, lovely view from 2nd floor and so convenient for cathedral and castle. Easy parking and friendly, helpful staff.

Very pretentious
I had a city view room which just overlooks the wall of the castle I might as well have slept with the lights on with all the external lighting of the hotel illuminate in my bedroom Breakfast was very minimalist with the guy telling me 'we don't serve latte with our type of breakfast' whatever that means

Great position in the centre of the historic part of the town. Very clean and well furnished room. Breakfast service was a little slow.

Unfortunately they were having building work done when we were there, right outside our window. Bit noisy and dusty, we didn't get an apology or choice of room change. They did seem a bit short staffed and the restaurant is only open Wednesday to Saturday. It is a comfy ,clean and conveniently located hotel though.

Staff Issues
The room in this hotel was standard but in good condition. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough room between the desk and the bed to put a chair which made it difficult since I needed to use my laptop for work. My main issues are with the staff. After being in the room for about 5 minutes, a staff member let themselves into my room without knocking while I was getting changed. The second issue I had with the staff is that I wasn't informed during my check-in that the restaurant wasn't open that day. I only found this out later in the night when I came down for food. I had to order a takeaway in the end.

Please know we have reiterated to all our staff that they must knock before entering a room at all times.I am sorry that you did not realise our restaurant is not open on a Monday and Tuesday - this information is available on our website and is included in our confirmation email sent after a reservation is made.

Nice small hotel right opposite the castle and with lovely views to the Cathedral (from my room at least). Very well located. Room whilst not overly large was very comfortable. Shower was hot and the breakfast was better than most. My only minor gripe is the car park - it's tiny and you're very much at the mercy of other drivers. That being said, there's nothing to stop you parking in the pay car-park opposite if you're risk-averse. I'd stay again.

Arrived to be told no restaurant open for evening meal. No takeaway coffee cups to grab a coffee and go. very thin walls so not a great night's sleeps.

Night light in room ceiling was lit continuously and reflected in the wardrobe door mirrors. This made the room too bright for sleeping at night. There was also an outside fan noise from 6am onwards that we found irritating and disturbed our sleep. Otherwise the room, hotel facilities and staff were excellent.

Great place to stay
Had a wonderful time. Receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. Rooms were very clean. The view from our window looking at the cathedral lit up at night was spectacular. Breakfast was excellent. Will definately stay again in the future.

A superb stay
I had a superb stay at The Castle Hotel. The welcome was very warm and friendly. My room was very quiet, and very comfortable. I am coming back to Lincoln in a few weeks and I shall book again.

Staff Were very polite and attentive, especially Steph, professionalism personified. Location was very good for visiting attractions i.e. castle cathedral and pubs but sadly let down by the lack of public transport i.e. buses and taxi services. People with walking disabilities would find it hard to get around due to the above mentioned.

The visit to Lincoln was great & hotel very nice, except for the lac of parking. Was not advised about booking parking by yourselves before the booking was made, it put an extra £30.00 onto the trip. Not impressed with that.

Great Location but Overpriced Room
We were put in a very small room at the back which was particularly noisy at night, not suitable for a parent and child. The bathroom, however, was a good size and I was impressed with the eco-friendly idea for the toiletries. Our room was cleaned to a high standard and the location is perfect. The full English breakfast on the first morning was tasty with quality sausages but on the second morning, they were burned and the service was poor. The beds were comfortable with the pillows need replacing. The room was definitely overpriced.
