Family time with a view!
We had a wonderful time. Kitchen is well stocked, multiple common areas and we all enjoyed the amazing views from the decks. Plenty of outdoor furniture!

Awesome stay
We celebrated my mother’s 78th birthday and this place was perfect for it. It accommodated our large family and it was stocked with everything needed to make an awesomely successful weekend.

Perfect for 5 couples
The owner was easy to work with and communicated clearly. There is so much room in this home (and outdoors) to spread out. We needed 5 bedrooms with either queen or king size beds for our 5 couples, so this was a good fit. It seemed like each room was well-insulated. We didn’t hear any noise from any other part of the home while sleeping. The rockers on the back porch were favorites of all of us!

Work retreat
My company held an event at Lake Gaston and several of my coworkers rented this house for a couple of days to attend the event. It is a beautiful home with an amazing view. What a great place to relax and hang out with friends. We did not want to leave. This would be a perfect house for a family vacation to the lake. Plenty of space, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located to the grocery store and local restaurants.

Wonderful Time!
Great place to stay for the weekend! Plenty of beds, beautiful lake, lifts for two boats, large dock, and close to the store. Owner was fantastic at clearing up an issue that came up. Would stay again!

Opening our family Christmas present
We rent a house at Christmas so our family can get together and send time with each other This is our third year and this house was awesome The perfect amount of space Perfect description and photos are spot on So thankful for a great time and a beautiful house Also with small children it was nice to have a house with less personal items and knick knacks out

Great annual reunion with friends
Blue Heron Lodge is huge and very well appointed. The double level dock is a fantastic hang out place. We were four older couples who reconnect every year. We all used to be neighbors and two couples have moved away - this is equi-distance between all of us. The kitchen was fabulous, and we loved the deck and the dock space. There is no canoe, as in the amenity list, just one kayak, but lots of tubes to lounge in off the dock (take ropes if you plan to do this). Lovely stay.

Very Relaxing
We all really enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing, the host was great, and the kitchen was fully stocked with cups, plates, and other needed dinnerware. The only drawbacks were that there was 1 television in the whole home and that there wasn’t a new dish sponge to use. Otherwise, it was great and we plan on coming back!

Amazing Stay!
This place was an amazingly peaceful getaway for my family members. We celebrated Thanksgiving here and had enough space to accommodate everyone comfortably. The kids got a chance to fish and enjoy the comforts of the lower level that holds several bedrooms and a game room. The lake view was breathtaking and we plan to return in the summer to experience the lake to the fullest!

Women's Retreat
Thirteen women from our church had a weekend retreat at Blue Heron. The view was spectacular and the house was comfortable. It is the only house we have ever rented that had a table big enough for all of us to eat together!

Nearby family wedding
We had a family wedding nearby. This house was able to accommodate all family that needed a place to stay The house is well maintained, clean, large enough for big families and has a gorgeous view overlooking the lake. Linens are included. Communication with the owner is very easy. We felt very comfortable in this home

Great location and great place for a large family!
We had a great time and may book the same house next year! We rented a boat just down the lake from the house and that was a plus. The house was very clean and had all of the amenities that we needed. Even saw a family of deer in the front yard and bald eagles over the lake.

Wonderful large house on Lake Gaston perfect for a family of 12 or more. Great deck space at house and on dock. Water activities easily accessible for all ages. Kitchen well supplied, grocery store nearby, marina down the road. Host was available when called and responded to our requests immediately. This house is the perfect fit for a large group.

House with enough rooms for everyone! Perfect location with Food Lion & restaurants less than 5 minutes away. Owner responds quickly and brought us a new grill when the current one was not working & was flexible with check-out. Deep water is great for swimming & we enjoyed spending time on the top deck of the dock. Beautiful lake views! 100% would stay again!

Amazing Time
My sorority came to this property for our Spring Sisterhood Retreat. The property was absolutely gorgeous, very clean, and had plenty of room for all the girls that came. The owners are very friendly and accommodating and helped us with whatever we needed. The check in and out were so easy and stress free. We had an amazing time and would love to come again!

Nice family getaway
This was a nice large lake front home with all dishes, linens, life jackets, boat lift, and kayaks/canoes provided. It was a peaceful beautiful lake view. Our three families had plenty of room for togetherness or privacy when needed. The property owner/manager was very helpful and responsive. We lost power at 7:00 am on Sunday morning and he responded within minutes. The FoodLion, Dollar Store and ABC store were all only minutes away. The only downside was the pictures were not reflective of the current condition of the property. The landscaping is a bit overgrown, the carpets needed cleaning, the furniture was tired and well used, there were ants and spiders everywhere, lightbulbs were missing throughout the house, and furnishings had clearly not been dusted in sometime. Note - there is only one tv in the house and it is downstairs in the basement. There is none in the main upstairs living area. But, we truly enjoyed ourselves and loved Lake Gaston.

Great Time!
We had an amazing time! There is plenty of space for a large group. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful. The home has everything you could need and the grocery store is just a few blocks away. We definitely plan to come back! Needs work but great location
The property was in a great location and the deep water dock was great. The layout of the house was good for our 16 people but the house needs a lot of work and it was not up to par for cleanliness. Needs carpets cleaned and pests controlled. The deck and below the deck needs power washing. The condition of the deck was dangerous with nails sticking up and splinters. Had to go buy wash cloths and towels. If you advertise sleeping 16, then you need to supply for 16 people.

Weekend Lake Trip at Lake Gaston
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this property! The space was tremendous - every guest was able to sleep comfortably and privately between the rooms on the main levels and the basement, the kitchen and living room areas were very accommodating for cooking and eating, and the outdoor deck space was used as often as the weather permitted. Of course, the real treat was the dock, which was excellent for laying out in the sun, using for swimming, and keeping the pontoon boat we rented for Friday and Saturday. The space was very clean and prepared perfectly for our arrival, and all questions I had were answered in a timely and detailed fashion. If you're looking to make a trip to Lake Gaston and are looking for an ideal property to stay with a big family or group of friends, I can't recommend this house enough. Can't wait to come back!

Great weekend getaway
We booked this property for 3 nights for a little weekend getaway. Everything to check in and out was easy, linens and towels provided, as well as a broom/surface sprays; great dock and outdoor area even in rainy weather. Be sure to bring extra essentials like paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper. Other than that we had no problems and would come again... stay was too short to even utilize the game room which looked awesome!

Pleasant Winter Getaway

Property is beautiful! Property manager responds right away. My family and I enjoyed our stay. 1 min from Food Lion, Family Dollar and can practically walk to the ABC store. Everything was convenient.
