Hi Wanda, thank you for staying with us and we are terribly sorry that your experience was less than ideal. It is significant to mention you were on the last night of a three-night stay before there was any mention of any sort of issue with the room. The Great Smoky Mountains, although beautiful, are filled with all sorts of insects that will catch a ride home on your pants leg without you ever noticing. And though the desk clerk was not able to identify the insect, both you and the clerk agreed on what it was not. When given the option to check-out or move to a different room, you choose the later and your stay was generously discounted for the inconvenience. Hey Michael, thanks for reaching out to us. Road conditions were passable as we had guests driving in from all surrounding states with no issues. Had road conditions not been drivable we would have had to cancel all reservations and shut down as we would not have been able to get our own staff to work. The reservation was made months in advance meaning you held that room for months when it could have been rented to someone else, this is why most all hotels have a cancellation policy and a penalty for cancelling after the deadline.
