A quiet get away with beautiful views
I’d like to start with the positives first by saying this is a lovely property with beautiful views. It’s charming and quiet. We sincerely enjoyed our time there as a family and are thankful for the opportunity to have been able to come together after the loss of my grandmother. The unit was clean and well stocked. I would highly advise however, if anyone has small children, elderly travelers or people with limited mobility or knee troubles to seriously consider their stay. The bedrooms are all located downstairs and the stairs are steep and spaced far apart. My mother has a bad knee and really struggled. The beds are set up well but could use a good update, they’re all very hard and not what I’d consider comfortable. The master shower is a high side that makes it difficult to get in and the other shower has slopped concrete that is very uncomfortable to stand on. This was by far the CLEANEST unit we’ve stayed in which was very appreciated. The large kitchen table made for the perfect place to come together and enjoy company. Overall a beautiful location and worth the charges if you can overlook some of the less convenient amenities.

Thank you for the thoughtful comments. It makes me realize I need to be more clear in my description that the cabin is built into the hillside and the main floor that you enter is one big great room and kitchen with patio doors to the back deck. The lower level is where the 3 bedrooms are located and that means stairs. I will add more information so if anyone has any mobility issues they should check out one of my other cabins that have bedrooms on both floors

Description is very accurate. Cute.
I would change the kitchen chairs. They're super heavy but match the property. The basement floor where the bedrooms are is cement. Didn't realize that until we were there but overall cute and correct description of the home.

UTV COUPLES TRIP
Great location right on UTV trail. Cabin is a little closer to the road than you would think. Lots of parking for your trailers. Owners were easy to get a hold of. We had an unpredictable water issue. They had someone there in under 15 minutes to fix it. We loved our stay! The third bathroom is a huge plus when you travel with multiple men.

Vacation
A nice, cozy cabin very beautiful inside. However, pictures of the place needs to be updated especially the view from the deck. You cannot see the creek as it states. Also, there is not a path to the crack you have to walk through the woods once you get to the creek, it’s about a 3 foot drop off to get into the creek. So if you want to do all that, then you would need AquaSox as they describe.

Hi Rick, You are absolutely right, the view has become overgrown and we lacked an arborist and landscaper this season. I'm happy to say we have found a new service and are on the schedule so we can open up that spectacular view again! I have to say it's not always easy to stay ahead of Mother Nature. they advertised to use the creek but there is no access. If they weren't so lazy the would take a weed eater and cut a path to the creek and put in some metal post like you do on any construction site with a post driver(by hand, then tie some stair rails with zip ties.. The owners on cousin said told them for three years. it simple and could be done in a day.

I’m sorry you did not ask me about the path. We have a mowed trail, that is less steep, that I specifically have posted inside the cabin that is kept weed whacked.. We do say specifically that the path is not behind the cabin, it’s 100 yards to the north where it’s less steep. We are built into a hillside and created a safer route. For anyone who reads this, if you are at one of my cabins or at anyone’s vacation rental, if there is a question or concern or something you are not happy with, please contact the owner. It’s hurtful to have bad things said about you and you don’t even know until it’s too late to answer a question or make it right. Please let your host know, I think we all try our very best to provide a nice place to vacation. When you give a 2 star review and call me lazy for a failure to communicate on your end, I feel hurt and I would remind you it’s easy to complain behind a computer. I am a phone call away and I think if you read other comments, people say I'm nice and easy to communicate with!! Safe travels everyone, be kind, be courteous and communicate!

Very nice place to get away
Clean, quiet cabin to get away from the demands of the world and either find quiet or reconnect with family/ friends with you. The upper porch was a favorite place to sit and relax. The only draw back for us was the path to the creek was impassable due to overgrowth and trail damage. But this may be fixed by the time you stay, so don't let it stop you. Lots of water access in the area.

Our family proves they are troupers!
What a surprise to literally fall into the cabin (its a step down from the porch) and then from the floor on my knees, I see what are called stairs to the basement. Dangerous for kids and older folks. Bad railing situation and inconsistent size of stairs! Electrical problems, so we had to run a cord from the air conditioner to the basement outlet via the already dangerous stairs. The kitchen is not really stocked well. We took turns using the only comfortable bed, which was downstairs in the master BR. Did not really understand the bed situation. Terrible sleeping. Stairs were so hard for my 83 year old husband, he had to sleep on the couch. Not a cabin for old folks or grandchildren who are not used to bunkbeds where they hit their heads on the ceiling. You have to walk to the creek from the road, not down from the house. Had to scrub the washing machine clean before I could use it. The walk in shower is not safe as the floor slopes in a way to loose your footing. Unable to use the jacuzzi as there was no cord to plug in. Final straw was the dumpster and recycling can were full when we arrived and ended up with maggots crawling out. All in all, I believe this property really needs the owner to spend a night there to rectify the problems. As a family, we enjoyed our time together, but will never book this again. BTW, we left 2 days early. So, my family are really troupers!

Oh these are so hard to handle....our cabins are little pieces of us and when we get a bashing it really hurts. I don't believe most of us know how to give feedback on reviews that is actually helpful and I know I've been guilty of not fully reading a description as this guest failed to do. That said, I would like to address the points that made the stay for Phyillis difficult: 1. The entry way does have a step down and while not ideal, it's our entryway 2. Our cabin is on 2 levels, so yes that means stairs. When I travel with anyone who has any mobility issues, I make sure I ask if there are stairs and locations of bedrooms and bathrooms. The guest missed that it's a 2 story cabin. We are built into the the side of a hill overlooking the creek and while you walk into the main floor with the kitchen, great room and giant deck, the lower level is where the bedrooms are. Stairs and railings are to code, but we did add an extra railing. 3. Electrical-The power company was doing some rolling brown out's during peak usage and it caused issues. But it did bring to light the jacuzzi cord needing replacement, so thank you, that's done as well. 4. In the description, I do state we have 3 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms have custom built bunk beds with a full top and full bottom. The 3rd bedroom has the one full bed. Again, I'm sorry this point was missed when the guest made the reservation. 5. The dumpster is a dumpster in the icky heat of summer time and full from all the guests. It gets picked up once per week like most trash services and unfortunately this time of year it is a busy place. I'm glad the family got together, had a good time, will have some crazy stories to share and remember, but for anyone reading this, please take note from this review: read the description of the cabin, the area and ask questions, especially if you have any special needs. I know these times are precious and important and I want nothing more than to be a happy part of those!!

Peaceful cabin in the countryside.
Nice, clean properly. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, utensils plus more. Even some condiments but we brought and used all our own. Nice open concepts and plenty of room. We had 4 adults.

Peaceful rural stay
Plenty of privacy at this cozy cabin. Some traffic on road but usually the only thing to hear was bird song. We took a side by side to utilize the trails which were just the right distance away. Also mountain biked at nearby park and hiked some in the State Forest. Great stay!

Long weekend
Nice location. Directions to cabin that were given were right on the money. Plenty of housewares to use. Clean. The sleeping arrangements could have been made a little clearer. The website kinda gives impression there are bunk beds and a double bed in 2 of the bedrooms. Plus unkown that all 3 are in basement til we got there. Had fun & relaxing wknd.

Winter getaway
We enjoyed some family time at this cozy cabin. We walked down to the creek following the markers suggested by the owner. We watched the sunset on the back porch. The cabin is set up with everything needed for a family getaway.

A great little getaway. We enjoyed family time, nearby tubing and hiking. Jennifer was a great communicator and answered questions quickly. Cellular service is a pretty weak so be aware.

Comfy and beautiful colors!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us. We enjoyed our stay so very much. We do have a few suggestions. For us older peeps a folding chair in the bedrooms to sit on would be really helpful as the beds are either high or low.’ The locks on the upstairs patio door and at least one of the bedrooms need attention. The deck has some rot and holes in the wood where the chair legs went through as one of us was sitting in it. Gave us a bit of a scare. Thankyou again, we had so much fun!

Nice and relaxing
Place was clean and comfortable. 2 bedrooms have queen bunkbeds (top and bottom) and master bedroom queen bed that sits pretty tall. Younger Adults could access the top Bunks. Only drawbacks we had was the front window doesn't have a curtain or shade on it and faces the main road that was pretty close and the locks on the doors other than front door were not effective. Each bedroom in the basement had a door to the outside. All bedrooms were in the basement. We felt safe regardless of the locks. Like having 2+ bathrooms. Would rent this propert again. Owner responds quickly!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. All of the bedrooms are downstairs (down in the basement). The trout stream is not easily scene from the back deck and the best path to get to it is from about 100 yards down the road. The cabin was nice and somewhat secluded

The cabin is awesome, the views are amazing! The cabin had everything we needed for our weekend away. So peaceful and we had a wonderful time. We loved the fact that we could get on our rangers and just jump right on the trails. No loading up and driving to a location to start our day. Cozy Country Cabin
The cabin's layout: open, spacious with front and back porches, main floor powder room and 3 lower level bedrooms with 2 baths made a perfect fit for 5 or 6 overnight guests and 4 or more additional visitors.

Great Stay
Cabin was cozy and comfortable; it fit our needs perfectly and is in a great location to access hiking trails. Host did an extraordinary job with communication. I can't say enough good things about her. Very happy with our stay and would love to stay there again if we're in the area.

Nice...but
Beautiful home, friendly host, nice area, quiet. We could hear the stream gurgling below. Unfortunately the stream was too much of a climb up-down for us to make it there more than once. The bedrooms were located on the lower level and the stairs were a little steep, so I slept on the couch upstairs while my wife slept in the bedroom downstairs. If we had known there were stairs we would not have rented. But both the front and back porches were great and provided hours of enjoyment.

Fall ATV trip
Property was in a very scenic location and worked out well for our trip. Would probably stay again if the bunk bed situation was different . We had four old guys and didn't catch that two of the 3 bedrooms only had bunk beds. The additional bathrooms were a nice feature of the cabin though. We made it work and still enjoyed the area. Not a bad spot for ATV's as it's kind of in the middle of several trail systems but off the beaten path from Black RIver Falls.

Family Getaway
We had an amazing family vacation!! The cabin was beautiful and cozy. The back deck was absolutely perfect. The creek flowing below and the simple sounds of nature were so peaceful. We spent time riding the trails, taking the kids to the lake, enjoying the outdoors and making memories! Our last day/night it was pouring rain with thunderstorms, but that just allowed us to enjoy the cabin and watch some movies, while getting in some relaxing time as well. My one and only thing would be that the street light does kinda kill the campfire vibes, but it wasn’t a big enough deal to stop us from spending time around the fire on the nights we had good weather! Thank you so much for hosting us and we definitely plan to come back next year!

Beautiful cabin
This cabin had everything we hoped it would and much more! We enjoyed the deck in the earling mornings and late evenings, my kids enjoyed all the games you had and the outdoors. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone. The no wifi and cable is a definate plus for us because we were able to get away from our busy lives and just shut off the " outside" world for a little bit, we will try to make this a yearly trip. I just hope next time i can try to do it during the fall, it would be amazing to see those woods change colors! We enjoyed reading everyone elses experience in the guestbook and we left ours as well! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful cabin with us! Ps- i was very sad to leave the cabin, eveyone fell in love with it.

Cozy creek cabin getaway
We loved it. Super close to Black River Falls State Park and Jackson County Parks. The cabin was charming and had all the necessities we could anticipate. The kids loved seeing the horses across the street and hiking down to the creek. Loved it and hope to come back.

Birthday Surprise in the Woods
Reserving with VRBO was easy. No problems at all. Owner answered all questions very quickly. We showed up before the snowstorm and felt like we were living in a snow globe! Beautiful little spot close to wonderful State parks & trail. Snowshoeing was amazing. Not able to access creek via trail which was disappointing, but did not change the overall experience. Rustic, but comfortable. Porch is awesome! Great surprise birthday getaway! (Is not handicap accessible)

My fiancé and I were looking for a quiet weekend away and truly enjoyed everything about the cabin. Very rustic and relaxing. We are hopeful it will be an annual get away for us.

Amazing getaway!
The weekend we stayed, the weather was amazing! We enjoyed the back deck each morning and night. What made it super special was that we were able to bring our two furr babies with us! It was a great get away weekend trip. We highly suggest this cabin and would absolutely stay again in the future!
