Honestly I have stayed at a lot of Doubletree hotels and I was not impressed with this one. It needs a lot of updates parking was very limited. We had a room where the heater did not work they sent the maintenance guy up. He said wait 10 minutes to see if it would work it’s still did not work, so at almost midnight we had to change rooms. Luckily, that one had a heater that worked no refrigerators or microwaves in the room which was kind of an inconvenience since we ordered in and I did not finish all of my food, so it went to waste the first room that we had , I was not impressed with the cleanliness. The bathtub was not cleaned very well, and there was some unknown substance that was on the wall. The sink was clogged and cigarette butts and ashes were coming up from the drain. The second room that we had was a little bit better , but not very much. Again, we had an unknown substance on our wall that kind of resembled blood. Would I stay here again for the amount I paid probably not.

They didn't have a fridge or microwave in our room. I guess I should have noticed on website, but didn't. No PPV movies like advertised. The TV remote didn't allow any input buttons so no personal movies from USB flash drive or any other device. Golden Tee didn't work in bar/game room. The wife wanted to take a bath and there was no stopper in tub. Had to wait 45 minutes to get that.

The parking area is small under the hotel, the room is really outdated, front desk was nice and friendly! She just took forever to help us as she was on her phone when we first walked in.

The property is dated, the staff were great, but the food was poor. The place is poorly lit and in the room it was impossible to read as there were not enough lights. It needs a remodel badly. The black and mirrors theme is 1980s!

A little too old
This place probably looked really nice back in the 80s and 90s. It really needs an upgrade. From the front doors to the parking garage up to the rooms.

Check in was long due to a. It issue but nice front desk staff. Loved buffet breakfast. Had the nicest bartender at their lounge. She even helped me order my food and had it brought up to the bar. She also made a mean Martini. Very friendly staff.

Awful experience @ DoubleTree Hilton Midland Plaza
The front desk was very rude and unhelpful to my cousin, who was my guest. We found TWO random pills (unknown medication) on the floor of our room, where my young daughter or my cousin’s puppy could have easily ingested them, had they found them first. When the front desk was notified about this, their ONLY concern was that the puppy wasn’t previously mentioned (due to last minute emergency we had to bring him) and they needed to add the pet fee. Completely ignored the fact that there were unknown PILLS on the floor of our room. The staff working the continental breakfast refused to microwave the very cold eggs, or remedy it in any way and there was foil attached to the bacon. The fruit pastry was the opposite of fresh, the fruit itself tasted fermented. Overall, extremely disappointed in our stay & not only will we never book there again, we’ll be discouraging any family and friends from booking there as well. I usually never write reviews, and overlook most inconveniences, but this experience left me compelled to share.

Decent hotel for price. Bad reception on TV, housekeeping upon request only, steamer and Starbucks not working for entire weekend stay. Hotel staff friendly though and pretty close to airport
