It is always distressing when people do not tell the truth. Allison created a disturbance with our neighbors, and when we asked her in a kind way to make sure that she kept the sound down, she did, in fact do that. It seems that she was upset by this and then gave us a review that included information that is untrue. None of our other guests have had these problems. And we have checked out each and every item to make sure there’s nothing amiss. Probably the most disturbing part of her review was that she claimed earlier that she was gone during the time with the neighbors reported loud guests at the property. In her review, she changed her story and said that she was actually there! One thing was, in fact, true. That was that a tree was hanging low over the driveway. That has already been fixed. Another issue she had was that she plugged too many appliances into one outlet tripping the circuit breaker in the kitchen. It is a pretty easy fix to unplug those and reset the circuit breaker. We were sorry she had a hard time with that. Had she told us of this problem while she was there, we could’ve helped her out. She made other claims like the toilet didn’t flush properly and the stove didn’t turn on. We had both of those checked by a third-party and they couldn’t find any problem with them. She claimed that we lied about the renovation of the house. In February and March we gutted and completely redid both bathrooms and the kitchen. I’m not sure why she thinks we didn’t do that. Everything including cabinets and counters, tubs, and sinks, are completely new. Even the floor in the kitchen. She claimed that we lied about how quiet we want people to be. We do state in our listing that it’s a quiet neighborhood and that no parties can be held on the property. That does not mean silence, but it does mean being respectful of the neighbors around the house

Thanks Dawn for your honest feedback. Sorry for the inconvenience! We did make it clear in our property description that we have a In-law unit which is rent out separately. It has its totally separate entrance and it’s own yard. Sorry we couldn’t provide more than 2 parking lots. We wish we could! Usually always suggest cats who have more than two vehicles to park a block away.

We were very sorry to hear of Sherrill’s disappointment. She is the first person in a couple of years that we have been renting our house that we have heard that the beds were too hard, but we know that’s a personal preference. This is indeed our family home rather than a corporate hotel room, and for someone who wants that kind of feeling, it may not be the right place. For someone who wants to stay in a house with great warmth and color that feels removed from the busyness of the world, this seems to work beautifully for almost every other guest.
