I will not come back again
Hotel clean but old and refurbished a lot. Disappointed that fitness club and swimming pool are closing at 20:00 despite information in guestbook in room mentioned till 21:30.

Had previously stayed in hillgrove with family. Had another wonderful stay. Pool brilliant for children. Food amazing. Thanks again for another wonderful stay

Off beaten path. Very clean. Maybe overpriced but it was crazyweek...need toalert people that festival is in town. Traffic was nuts. No restaurants nearby Restaurant in hotel...eh. service ok.

Great location to monaghan town we stayed start of November and the only issue we had was the room was uncomfortably cold with no way to control the temperature we made several requests to front desk to rectify . Would not stay here again in the winter months

Very Disappointing
We booked the honeymoon suite to start off our first few days as husband and wife and were bitterly disappointed. There was mould on the wall and throughout the night the lights kept coming on. There were alot of children running around our floor and the floor was shaking everytime they passed the door. The shower kept cutting off (lack of pressure) and when i mentioned the issues at checkout it was completely dismissed.

Overnight stay with family
We had an amazing stay at the Hillgrove, we were 2 couples and got 2 rooms beside each other which was handy. We got a meal in the bar on the Saturday night goujons and chicken burger was over cooked i got the duck with noodles which i couldn't find one fault with it was amazing. Unfortunately our service wasn't great had to ask twice were our drinks were we must have waited 15mins on them...then breakfast the next morning we ordered 4 full fry,s and had our frys nearly ate before we received our toast other than that there was nothing else i could complain about....had a great overnight stay but probably wouldn't go back till the entertainment starts back up in the hotel.

Breakfast in room not delivered had to call down When beast delivered missing cereal and toast was like bread When b fast reserves toast still not right Beast in dining area waiter finger in cereal and hand all over rim of glass Toast not toast and not in rack piled on plate looks Asaf UL and gives soggy toast Only one egg with beast Service not great had to ask for cutlery coffee Kids running wild in corridors all day and evening

Great hotel - ample parking, excellent WiFi, very good leisure club. Excellent buffet breakfast - modern and quiet rooms.

Disappointing stay ☹️
Hotel is ok rooms are a bit tired disappointed we were not informed that use of the spa was not included with our stay. We used the leisure facilities which were extremely busy with young families and went to the spa the next morning. The Spa was not as clean as I would expect but we did have treatments which were excellent.

Rooms clean and well prepared. Pool was good. Bar area wasn't kept clean. We had to step across food debris from previous customers when we sat down for food then the orders were completely mixed up.

All I can say why would a Hotel place a single business traveller in a room where direct below is a children’s playground, I love the sound of children playing and as a father of 4 , I really don’t mind. However !! when the children are allowed to play in the playground until 11.20pm I made the reception aware at 9.35pm of the noise and it continued until 11.20pm I just find it totally unacceptable not just for me but for other guests who are trying to sleep. For the amount of money I paid for one night £125.00 all I expected was a room where I could rest and sleep without being disturbed, I was also told as I left the Hotel this morning the management would call me as of 17.30pm I am still waiting for a call. This was my 3rd and final stay at this hotel
