We are sorry that you had difficulty operating the shower. All of our showers are thermostatically controlled for safety.

The dining room has been in the same location for almost 120 years and the bar is located inside it, however meals have to be booked in advance and this booking was for room only. Most of the rooms have double glazing and we have just started on triple glazing. We are currently installing our 1oth new bathroom at the property.

Unfortunately due to health issues no one was able to offer assistance with luggage for which we apologise. There are generally 3 to 4 people working in the building at anyone time but may be away doing other tasks. Our dining room with panoramic sea views is located on the first floor however meals require to be booked in advance and this booking was for room only. We dont think many 70's b&bs would have smart tv, 4g and wired internet in the rooms.

Thank you for your review. We have 4 upper levels in the hotel and all rooms are upstairs. We do not have any bathrooms that are bigger than their respective bedrooms however we are currently installing our 10th new bathroom.

Rather strange experience. Guests did not check in. Called five hours after check in had closed and we ensured that both the manager and one of the owners were on site as soon as possible to offer assistance.

Unfortunately like most of the properties in this are we have no lift we advise guests of this before booking. We had no requests for a lower room although we have 2 lower rooms that we try and keep for people with mobility problems.

All of our televisions work and are tested regularly. The satellite box needs to be switched on to provide the channels. The room that was booked had a bathroom not a shower room.

We advertise that our 4 story building has a feature stair case and no lift so that guests are informed before booking. We are sorry that you thought that our budget double room was overpriced, we frequently check our prices against other hotels to ensure that we are amongst the cheapest in the area for a similar room type.

We are a small town centre hotel that has been trading for over 100 years as a hotel. We aim to be a budget provider so yes high end facilities should not be expected although we are currently upgrading the bathrooms. We are sorry that you did not join us in the bar as it also has wonderful views and for pre arranged groups we can also offer evening meals. We are lucky that there are a number of car parks close by the nearest being tweedale street and the other being the rockfield centre.

Unfortunately we do not have a lift in the building and the at busy periods it can be difficult if not impossible to change to an alternative room other than the room that has been booked. The twin rooms are only available on the third and fourth floors. For the assistance of less mobile guests the room with the king size bed on the second floor is fitted with a zip and link bed to give more flexibility for they guests and a shower as opposed to a bath. We also have two lower level double bedrooms with showers although these are often booked out well in advance

For the comfort of all guests we do ask people to refrain from ringing the bell after 9pm at night although the owners live on site and for emergency contact their telephone numbers are on display at the reception. Breakfasts can be booked from 7am (advance booking required). A little perplexed about the wifi as we do not advertise wifi at the door however there are several routers throughout the building along with a 3g router in every bedroom. The router in the bar offers speeds up to 74 Mbps.
