The rooms and building are VERY dated. Don't let the pictures fool you, the rooms are a little box, with minimal accoutrements. They're clean, but not in the best repair. The windows didn't even have proper curtains, just some cloth "remnants", roughly hung over the windows. Impossible to keep out light, or from letting people peek in.
Don't expect a balcony. It's a narrow communal walkway with a chair on it. All the outside areas are dirty and sticky! The banister for the stairs is like fly paper! You can hear every sound from beside and below. We had kids on the 3rd floor running back & forth on the "walkway" and it sounded like a herd of cattle day & night.
Don't arrive before 4pm, or you will have to wait to check-in. We arrived a 2pm and had to sit in our car for 2 hours.
The beds were as old as the building. They felt like they were stuffed with straw and springs.
Almost no parking, to speak of, and if you're not lucky enough to get one of the ~20 spots next to the hotel, you have to walk to the overflow lot across a busy street.
The staff was friendly and very helpful, the only positive to note. The room was missing a remote for the TV and the staff member went out of his way to remedy the situation. The desk folks were very nice as well, and the cleaning staff too. It IS close to the beach and boardwalk and tram stop.
We wound up checking out a day early and driving the 6 hours back home. Wasn't expecting the Taj Mahal for the price, but did expect more.
