Toilet Olympics
Breakfast included meant microwaved crepes and instant coffee. We had to ask the front desk to have the room cleaned because the cleaning lady only wanted to do it if we had been there three days. We had to step on or over the toilet to get into the shower because of the whacky placement of the toilet and sink which was unnecessary because there was certainly room for the toilet to be out of the way.

OK for one night stay
If everything is booked or you are on budget, this place could be a choice. Don’t expect much. You get what you paid for. Adv: city centre, water provided; decent breakfast. Disadvantage: VERY small room, poor WiFi, staff was smoking inside the building even though it is prohibited (seen the bartender who was smoking on the 3rd floor).

The worst hotel i visited in my life !! The staff in the lobey not respected the clients , i ordered a room and took another one because they dont have free room like which i ordered , airconditioner working one hour a day , breakfast like animals food ... nooooot recommended at all

Not as the Ritz, however much then a tent!
Though this not so lovely hotel may not be a 5 star hotel it how ever it has a some what a dorm atmosphere to it small no window room , wall are as are thick as paper and it does have an lift or elevator and they both worked. The eating area though not very charming, just simple has a wide vie of the corner street below. The staff there were very friendly even though, I did not speak Russian and they tried as best, they could and we did in there somewhat in broken English and some universal language such as pointing and making jests, plus the help of a lap top by using Google Translate, it helped a lot! All and all my stay was quite pleasant and enjoyable happy staff who did there best as best as could be under the circumstance. This is after all a old hotel. I may come back some day! Great bazar not far away and a gigantic farmers', butchers' and fishermen's market and bazar area not far from the zoo and not far from the hotel. And from the hotel down to the sea shore is within walking distance of about 1 or so km , there are buses and trolley cars and taxies to take you where ever you wish to go!

Zirka Hotel tries to help you, when you need it!
wifi, free continental breackfast, personal laundry pay for you, helpfull front desk and restaurant staff English spoken but limited.

Great location, friendly staff, breakfast poorer.
We have stayed at the hotel before and appreciated its quirky style and free breakfasts. They re still free but often disappointing. Rooms are overheated and public areas are not air-conditioned so far as we could detect. Staff remain helpful but rooms are only cleaned when you leave - not daily.

Stayed here for one night...hardly believe I'd survive another one! :) room was small, found some long hairs on the bed. No blanket at all! Ok, it was hot outside and inside. Worst shower I've ever seen! Literally You have to touch sink either toilet closet whilst using a shower! And internet...there was no internet in the room as promised, only found it in the lobby! Heard the same from others! And breakfast...cat could finish such size portion within few seconds! But as it is included in the price then it's better than nothing! If it would be twice as cheap, I'd stay in this and similar places just to spend a night otherwise my advice is to avoid this one!

Terrible place, dont take it,its super cheap and for a reason, a/c doesnt work properly all over the place,95% of rooms have no window,stinks,noisy,stay away!!!! Better find private appartments in the center.

The Zirka
If you want cheap, and possibly nasty, then this is the hotel for you. There is a reason as to why it is the cheapest hotel in Odessa, It does a high trade in renting by the hour. The rooms are very basic, bed and bathroom. Staying there was not a feel good experience.

The room lacks a chair and table. The bathroom is too small and unconmfortable. There was hot water only once in one week. Breakfast is very small. The roomprice is cheap but too expensive for the quality offered.

I like it , location is great.
I have really enjoyed it. the staff is very helpful they will make phone calls for you pretty much do whatever you need I highly recommend the staff there very good. they all speak English they will call the taxi for you they will call a museum you're very helpful.location is very good it is halfway between the train station in the central part of the city not very far to walkthe more expensive London hotel is only a block away so the location is very good.the free breakfast leave something to be said to be desiredor a lower price hotel I like it very muchand will stay here again when I come to Odessa

This is the worst so called "hotel " I had ever stayed in. It is a Soviet style monstrosity that should have never been built in the first place. The "bathroom' is maybe one square foot larger than the typical airplane bathroom. Unbelievable place. It should be torn down immediately or should be converted into a shelter for the homeless.

Zirka Hotel in Odessa
The first impression is the small size of the room. I tried both 'economy' options: with window and without. I was happy with the cheapest room as I did not really need the window but for those 'claustrophobic' guests it may be worth paying extra 5-10 bucks for the window. Disappointing was the absence of mirror in the bathroom. But everything worked and I was impressed with availability of power points! One will not regret skipping breakfast though. Boiled egg or salty sausage with piece of bread or small pancake is very basic. There is however a 24hr general store across the road. 4 out of 5 may be generous but I required only a place to sleep and I was satisfied with what I got for the price. The hotel is located close to the centre (only 20 min walk to the popular Deribasovskaya St).

Very, very small room. It's a bit bigger than bed. Bathroom looks like a cupboard, very funny. The hotel itself looks pretty new and modern, can be recommended for a short stay in Odessa.

Getting some Bang for your Buck, Yup, it is cheap,
It is small but clean, I expected worse from all the negative reviews. Halls and lobby are well lit. And usually there is security man standing in the lobby. You are safe here. Yes, small. At this price normally you share a toilet and shower. Privacy is nice. In France a room is triple the cost and you share a toilet and shower, SAME SIZE ROOM. I did straddle the toilet to brush my teeth at the sink. The window sill is wide, Use that for your suitcase. SMALL Cafe on third floor. I did try a sandwich (ButterBrot) open face with a little meat cheese and tomato on top of bread. Tasty when it is warmed up. it is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The front desk will call a taxi for you if you want to go anywhere, Ride to the airport was only 50 rpy, the local curency, which is like about $6.00 USD. No street beggers like other places that I was staying at. This is no tourist trap There also seems to be a motion detector in your room. So I suppose if you let them know you are gone, they will make sure there is not any activity in your room. I did not confirm this. I replaced the toilet paper, $3.00 USD at the corner store. How much time do you intend on being in your room? This is a beautiful city, get out and see the place. The locals do know this hotel will rent by the hour for the hookers. It is not dangerous. The locals are aware of the situation and it is accepted. Just be aware of your situation like you would in any foreign city.

Decent place to leave your stuff and sleep in. Close to restaurants and sites. Everything you need to see is within 30 min walk. Air conditioning is weak. Front desk staff capable in english and helpful when required. TV service is about 8 channels all in russian. Bathroom small, their idea of toilet paper is amusing. Taking a shower is frustrating. The corner stall allows curtian to envelope you while washing. Hear the neighbours clear as day. Prompt response to repair requests/complaints.

Good location
The hotel is what it is. A cheapish hotel in quite a central location. You can walk to the beach in about 30 to 40 minutes & the main tourist area is less that 30 minutes walk. Rooms are small, & a bit hot, but clean enough. Area around hotel is safe.

Smallest rooms ever!!!! Bathroom requires a gymnast or contortionist to operate in. Stairwells wreak of cigarette smoke as does the cafe on the third floor. Otherwise it's cheap fair and a 15 minute walk to Deribovska Street!

The Zirka Hotel-cheap and nasty
Don't be fooled by the photos of this place. The rooms are not big enough to swing a cat in, the airconditioning doesn't work and if you are the slightest bit uncomfortable with small spaces, don't share a room with anyone. The rooms are like prison cells with a double bed. The plumbing smells bad as well. It might be cheap, but in this case you don't get anything of value for the money you spend.

The price is right.
The price is right for what is offered. Located at the southwest corner of the downtown rectangle. Served by two trolleybus lines. Good restaurants abound in the vicinity. No wi-fi zone inside the hotel but reception has one public PC with internet connection. The restaurant named Americano Grande is 100 meters away and offers free wi-fi.

Okay hotel for the price
This is a budget hotel, very small rooms, no windows in the one I stayed in. If you are looking for somewhere just to sleep then this is fine. Everything is compact so not suitable for people with lots of baggage.

This is not a hotel, this is brothel!
It's a little dirty brothel for per hour use, not a real hotel. I've left the money and didn't even live there. My friends in Odesa didn't know I have ordered the place via Expedia, now they have a lot of fun joking about me making "reservation" at brothel via Internet! :))))
