Super nice place
Very nice an confortable place in the old city. The owner make you feel at home and give you a lot of help, city information and delicious breakfasts. Thanks for the yummy omelet!

Unsere Aufenthalt im Roots (Korni) Hotel was von Anfang an und bis zum Ende sehr entspannt und freidlich. Der besitzer Mitko hat uns wie alte Freunde empfangen - herzlich, zuvorkommend, hat sehr viele gute Tipps gegeben, uns sehr zufrieden alles in allem gemacht. Schönes frisch renoviertes sauberes Zimmer, grosse saubere Dusche, ruhig, sicher, einfach sehr sehr erholend.Am Rand von alten Stadt - sehr gut gelegen. Uns hat an gar nichts gefehlt. Immer wieder gerne!

Excellent stay in Plovdiv
Roots hotel is a clean and comfortable place to stay, just a stone throw away from Plovdiv historic centre. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but the owner Mitko is reason alone to book a room at this hotel. Mitko is the perfect host; - Does everything to ensure his guests are comfortable - Makes a great breakfast - Helps with parking - Great tips for destinations to see in Plovdiv, and Bulgaria in general. Also If you are in to wine, ask him for wine tips or to buy a bottle. He is a sommelier. He is also an interesting conversation partner. We had a wonderful stay.

Nice stay in Roots Hotel & Wine Bar
The owner Mitko is very kind person. He is sommelier with a wealth of knowledge about wines. I highly recommend visiting the hotel and ordering a wine tasting. Everything was fine, we had an amazing time.

We selected this hotel based on feedback from previous customers, and stayed her for 2 nights. We were not disappointed. The location is perfect. Mitko, the host, was amazing and very helpful. Plovdiv is a beautiful city and Mitko gave us good advices and all help we needed. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel.
Hotel Roots was the best place I stayed during my tour of Bulgaria. Close to the historic centre, quiet, super clean and everything as it should be. The owner, Mitko, is super friendly and quite a character. Cooks up a mean omelette too. You can’t go wrong here. 10/10

What a great experience - I selected this hotel based on feedback from previous customers and still the visit there exceeded my expectations. Mitko was an excellent host there and shared a lot of his time to plan my visit in Plovdiv. He served excellent breakfasts, recommended very good restaurants that met my expectations and highlighted points of interests. All I had to do was to follow the plan.

Must stay at Plovdiv!
One of our best experience in Romania! but not to forget, it's always the host that makes the difference. We love our stay at Roots hotel, it's definitely personalized. A lot of good recommendation and thank you for the omelette egg breakfast! Love every bit of this place.

In Plovdiv, This is the Place to Stay.
This is where you want to stay in Plovdiv. As other reviewers have mentioned, Mitko, the owner of this small modern hotel, goes above and beyond to make guests welcome. He has done a wonderful job with this new building that blends in perfectly with the area. Very comfortable in all respects. Plus he is a great chef. We had to stop him from preparing giant breakfasts every morning which he gladly does. We just couldn’t eat it all! Uses first class ingredients. The location is perfect. It is in the old city, but you can walk just a couple of minutes to an alternate route that takes you to the beautiful modern center in a less than 15 minute walk. Truly the best of both worlds. The Old City is beautiful. Many thanks to Mitko for being an amazing host. He knows Plovdiv and Bulgaria well. Final mention: he is a sommelier certified in Canada where he lived for many years. When he gives you advice about restaurants, listen to him. He knows his stuff. Plus, most importantly, he is a good person. He made our trip to Plovdiv a special treat.

The Roots Hotel & Wine Bar in Plovdiv was a great experience for us. Miko is a gracious host and made us feel like we were family. From the time he called us to ensure we knew how to get there to his welcoming attitude and helpful suggestions as to where to go and what to do during our 3 day stay. We went with the breakfast included option which was made fresh to order each morning. Lattes, homemade pastries and eggs made as you like were always a great start to our day. His restaurant and bar suggestions were spot on. The room was very clean and and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend to friends and family to stay here. Thanks for making our stay in Plovdiv memorable Miko!

The host Mitko is very generous and helpful, he gave accurate and good advices about things to visit and do in Plovdiv. Breakfast was cooked every morning by himself and was very good and tasty. The hotel itself was very clean and located less than 2 minutes walk of the old town entrance and around 5-10 minutes from Kapana district. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Great little hotel in old town.
The best hotel in Plovdiv. We chose the place because of the good reviews. It exceeded our expectations. The owner I looks really well after all customers. Everything is tailored to your needs. The meals are superb. He surely knows his wines. We will be back in Plovdiv at least so we can stay in the same place again.

Super spot!
We (2 American friends) stayed here last week and it was absolutely fabulous. Everything that previous reviews say about the owner is correct as he joined us for dinner and helped us understand the real Bulgaria. Previous reviews also didn’t mention that the location is excellent as it is on the edge of the old city and a short walk to the main walking street. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Best. Host. Ever.
This one-man-show is a no frills, clean hotel in a fantastic location with an AMAZING host. Mitko made sure all our needs were not just met, but went out of his way to assure that we felt comfortable in his hotel and enjoyed the beautiful city where he grew up. A few examples: * I am a celiac and he learned new recipes, bought GF flour, and made special food to fit my diet each morning for breakfast * He not only gave us a map of the area but marked and described things to do in detail * He recommended yummy places to eat and drink that fit our budget * He kept the room sparkling clean and provided everything we needed * When we were about to leave, he suggested tourist sites to see along our way that would be of interest to us Highly recommended, especially for first-time visitors to Plovdiv.

Our stay at Roots was fantastic. The location is perfect and our host Mitko was extremely helpful and informative. Mitko’s suggestions greatly enhanced our enjoyment of Plovdiv (he told us about a great wine bar when we expressed interest in wine), and he also helped us plan the next leg of our trip. Truly a great place to stay and I highly recommend Roots!

Everything overall about this was amazing. Mitko was of tremendous assistance the moment we got to the hotel property. Room was in excellent condition, location was spectacular, Mitko's homecooked breakfast was tailored exactly to each of our liking. Amazing stay and will definitely only consider staying here if I'm back in Plovdiv.
