Getting to Michi was an adventure especially at night and at the end of Mardi Gras...the road and the citizens were a challenge. Casa Anzuelo is a place to escape from the world, so if your goal is a peaceful place to read, think and enjoy the ocean & the warmth of the weather, then this is the place for you. Jim, the owner, was great to speak with regarding everything in the area as well as the background and history of Panama, and was willing to assist or help in anything that you needed. A great host!”

“The furnishings are worn. The second bedroom is only suitable for small children. The house is only a few metres from a busy main road with noisy traffic. The beach is unattractive. The water is too shallow for swimming. And the house is NOT in the “historic centre” of Portobelo, which is several kilometres away and consists of the ruins of a fort and a church. We were so disappointed we left after one night.”
