Bien ubicado
Limpio y bien ubicado. Faltan algunos servicios y extras que se pueden encontrar en otros hoteles, pero si no se es muy exigente es un buen hotel. Es un hotel grande con 10 plantas y eso le hace ser poco familiar

Value for money...no.
This is my second stay at this hotel. As I said on my previous comment, I think the price is expensive for what they offer. Answering the comments from the hotel management, Mr Arvis Zelcs, to my previous evaluation I must say that the second room I have been allocated to did indeed have a coffee machine (I didn't ask for it though) but on this occasion the floor heating system in room 506 either didn't work or was missing (they do have it in room 406, same room category). There are still issues about how to regulate the hot and cold water (being the hot water dangerously hot). In room 506 the sounds of the pipes of neighbouring rooms when water is running is really loud and sleep disturbing. The breakfast is good indeed but the pastry is cheap, very cheap and few choices. Cold meats, yogurts, juices and hot breakfast are very good and varied, though it is the same every day. Overall, a good hotel (as it cannot be otherwise considering the prices) but you can find better choices at this price level.

Not a five stars hotel. Pricey and low quality.
The good things: housekeeping ladies are really professional and nice. Bad things: water is difficult to adjust. It is really dangerous, the hot water can be used to make tea (I guess this is why you don't have a kettle in your room...), so beware. The room temperature cannot be adjusted so you will boil at night. Breakfast´s cakes and pastries are really cheap and bad quality. Every day the same breakfast. Front desk staff is not helpful. I made a local phone call to order a taxi and I had to pay 20 cents. Ridiculous when you realise the room rate is 150 euros...The concierge is sitting playing with his phone while you have to put your luggage upstairs and downstairs by yourself. The room is too small and tv channels few and not interesting. The gym...is a phone box with one treadmill and a few weights...really a joke. A good hotel, yes, but not for 150 euros a night. I am coming back again because my booking cannot be cancelled but in my next trips I will go for Radisson Blue.

However, we are sad to hear that your stay was not at the level of the expectations that we have become known for. We always aim to give our guests a great experience, both in service and product, as can be seen by many other reviews on this and other sites, so we are sorry that this was not the case for your stay. Please be informed that we have a coffee & tea making machine in rooms of Deluxe or higher category, however, upon request we can bring it to the rooms of any category. I would like to also inform that we have air conditioning system and adjustable radiators in all rooms, so the temperature can be adjusted manually. We are sorry that you found our breakfast to be very limited in choice, most of our guests are very happy with the breakfast and we receive many good comments about it. We do have wide variety of cold items, such as different smoked fish, cold cuts, salads, as well as cereals, fresh fruits, fruit salad and dairy products. In additional there are juices, mineral water and sparkling wine. Egg dishes are made to order in front of you and are served with accompaniments such as bacon, mushrooms etc. Please note that just like for the most of the other 5 star hotels, external phone calls from our rooms are for additional charge. Therefore our reception staff is always happy to arrange transportation for hotel guests. We will check with our with our Front Office manager to follow up the situation with the attitude of our concierge. Thank you very much for bringing up this subject. Dieses Hotel hat leider ihre besten Jahre hinter sich. Der verstaubte Charme lässt anmuten, dass es sicherlich mal ein gehobenes Hotel war, aber unseren Erwartungen eines Leading Hotel of the World heute, entspricht es definitiv nicht! Die Speiseauswahl am Frühstücksbuffet war dürftig und nicht einladend! Die hellhörigen Zimmer, wie auch das Badezimmer sind renovierungsbedürftig, benutztes Geschirr wurde nicht abgeräumt, Wasser nicht aufgefüllt! Die Mitarbeiter bemühen sich sehr und sind wirklich freundlich, aber dennoch kann man hier nicht über die fehlenden Annehmlichkeiten hinweg sehen! Was uns aber sehr geärgert hat war, dass nirgends in den Beschreibungen erwähnt wurde , dass die Bar eine Raucher Bar ist!! Wollte man etwas trinken, musste man den Zigarren Qualm ertragen und stank danach widerlich. Unsere Beschwerde über die fehlende Information interessierte hier niemanden!

What a gem of a place
One of the best hotel experience I've had in a while. The location of the hotel is a huge plus, being so close to many important historic sites of beautiful Riga old town. Food is wonderful and the cigar bar is very classy. I didn't get a chance to experience their complementary spa service, but I plan on revisiting Grand Palace Hotel again.

All good as always
I arrived in the afternoon after 2 1/2 hour drive and was met with a smiling receptionist who had me swiftly checked in. Visited the bar for a tea with a friend before going out for dinner. Great service and offer. It was a treasure. Breakfast is also super. This time was no exception. I have met some of the staff since 2008 and that is a measure of a great place to work. Looking forward to my next visit

Good location. Old and not maintained. I’ve asked to be moved, because of the noise and the bells that goes off 8 in the morning. I was refused. The lady at the front desk told me, “ the noise in not a good enough reason for you to move rooms” And the hotel bar smells like an ashtray. They allowed to smoke in the bar area. As you can imagine the smell travels all over the hotel lobby.

Excellent hotel- they just get everything right, even dealing with problems. At one point we were miscommunicated breakfast time but the staff were so fantastic at dealing with the problem by ensuring that we were looked after that it not only wasn’t a problem - it was turned into a big positive. They take customer service very seriously. Excellent experience all round - other hotels could learn a lot. Great food. Lovely location. And very quiet l. All round well done !

Dejligt og centralt hotel
Dejlig forlænget weekend på dette hotel. Stort og behageligt værelse. Sengen var lige lidt for hård til os, men vi var udhvilede da vi stod op. Lækker morgenmad af friske ingredienser og så indbydende ud. Rigtig god service lige fra ankomst til afgang af hele hotellets personale. Rigtig god rengøring. Hotellet ligger meget centralt og lige rundt om hjørnet fra julemarked. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Another great stay at Grand Palace - RIGA
Grand Palace is not only a wonderful hotel, but also has charm and probably the best bar in Riga. Íve been staying here since 2007 and the hotel is keeping it´s standard. Only challenge can be the time to get cooked breakfast delivered to order.

Very nice hotel. Was on a beautiful street. Close to restaurants and sights of the town. Room was quiet and comfortable. Was a very pleasant stay, just didn’t quite feel like a 5 star hotel.

Virkelig dejligt hotel, god placering. Mange restauranter og gå afstand til det meste. Operaen kan anbefales og KGB museet.

Hotel hvor de kresne blir fornøyd
Overall veldig gjennomført og klassisk hotell hvor de som ønsker det lille ekstra kan nyte det. Veldig bra frokost. PS! Litt vel mye sigaraktivitet i baren til info for de som ikke liker det
