A really lovely guesthouse, highly recommend
My stay was prefect. Hosts went out of their went to be accommodating and the evening meals were delicious. Bed very comfortable and room spacious.

The Glen is a beautiful building, ( possibly Edwardian with a baronial influence.) Very light and airy.Bedroom was a good size, plenty of light and windows easy to open. Good en suite, nice shower with eco option. Bed comfortable. Various breakdast options, including a packed breakfast to take if in a rush. Host very helpful. Parking plentiful, 15-20 minute walk into Selkirk high street. Plus some pretty walks close by down to the river.

Room was excellent, large, warm with a big modern telly. No restaurant was only downside. Although the one option for dinner was tasty enough.

Nice hotel Selkirk
A smidge pricey for the single traveller but was a lovely building, room was decent, clean throughout. Parking was there if you had a car but I didn’t need it, I was hiking. Selkirk is a lovely town to stroll around including The Haining. 😊

Charming Selkirk Hotel
Very friendly family small hotel, in charming period building. Breakfast which was served in the characterful lounge was well prepared and tasty.

A pleasantly furnished period property with views across Selkirk, river and fields beyond. Some rather dated decor, a satisfactory breakfast and a host temperamentally unsuited to hospitality.

We booked the 4-Poster Bed Room. It was beautiful! The hotel was within a short (15 minute) walk from the Town Centre of Selkirk, which was a charming village.

Decent place, clean & tidy, good breakfast, pleasant staff. Last minute booking, arrived at 9pm which was too late for food. Nothing other than chippy open in town.

Perfect weekend
We had an amazing time here. The hotel is beautiful and everyone was so lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great. The view was nice. It’s quiet. They have lots of games and there are some nice hikes nearby. Do yourself a favour and stay here!

easy to find small family hotel with spacious room
The Glen is a large building just above the river as you enter Selkirk.I imagine its got a history worth exploring ! At the bottom of the hill,with the centre about 1/2 mile it's not an easy walk but there is a lot of parking in the town. i was on my own but had a large family room - no extra cost- with electric shower ensuite .The bathroom whilst adequate did need a couple of floor tiles replaced as cracked but the shower was a 1200 unit so plenty of room! With a double and a single bed I was spoilt for choice - the double was comfy .The room no 6 is on the river side of the building so I wondered about traffic noise but although the windows were old and sliding sash style (and only single glased- the traffic noise didnt get through,although I dont sleep with an open window. Breakfast was adequate - and average - kippers being the only "scottish" option apart as porridge. The hotel didn't offer a (friday) evening meal but suggested an excellent Indian restaurant in the town. parking is adequate for cars - just enough room for my LWB van though. So for a "no frills" stay yes the Glen meets the needs .but lacks a "wow" factor - I am sure the historical features could be exploited as the building looks huge!

Nice large room although a bit dark. Staff very helpful as I was able to check in to my room early to enable me to get ready for a wedding I was going to that afternoon. Nice breakfast.

Small town stay
This is a small family run hotel with parking on site. Was very clean and well kept. Very comfy bed and large room. Stayed in the canopy bedroom that also had a pull out sofa. The views were amazing. Breakfast is offered in the morning . Unfortunately we had an early flight and couldn't stay for breakfast. Dinner was over by the time we arrived so I can't rate that. It is in a quaint border town. I would definately stay here again if the opportunity arose. The area is gorgeous if you are looking to just relax

Charming small hotel
We stayed here for a couple of nights to break our journey to the North East of Scotland. This is a charming little family-run hotel a short distance out of the centre of Selkirk. Our room was clean and comfortable, if a little dark. The breakfast was varied for a small establishment and the evening meals generous with a pub-style menu. The owners were welcoming and friendly. The insider decorative state was good but the outside paintwork needs a bit of attention.

The visit was to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday and the staff were excellent.The evening meal we had for her birthday was very good together with the birthday cake which the management kindly purchased for me.
