We had to get own towels, sheets and other! No service and told we could buy breakfast down the street at the store. Did not have right type of room for 3 people and wanted to charge extra for roll away bed when we had request a room for 3 adults

Hi, this is Felicia Allinger, the front desk manager at Baranof Lodge. If you have time, please stop by the front desk tomorrow morning and submit a grievance so that I I can better train my "housekeeping" assistance that it at disposal. Great Stay in Sitka!
I stayed for 9 days, visiting my daughter who is stationed at the Coast Guard station. Room was comfortable and clean. I asked for a couple of extra pillows and a blanket and was given them right away. Everyone at the front was very helpful, nice and always cheerful. The hotel is in a great location to almost all areas of Sitka. We ordered a taxi every now and then, but walked to most locations from the hotel. Fridge and microwave in room were both used and worked perfectly.

The hotel is on the older side but the place was clean. Everything is within walking distance (I walked from airport to hotel in 35 minutes while observing beautiful the area). Good enough place to rest and relax after exploring the area. Breakfast: Coffee, oatmeal packets, cereal, fruits, biscuits. Staff: Very helpful and courteous I would definitely stay there again.

Our bed wasn’t even made when we got our room and obviously hadn’t been cleaned and was dirty. The staff was non-existent after check in and my 10 year old son was very rudely told that there would be no more towels even though there were only 2 sets in the room for 5 people. The manager, a female, flew over from juneau to Sitka and pretty much threatened my 13 yo and 10 yo sons to “kill them” if they disturbed her. We didn’t know she worked there until we checked in. That was horrible in itself! I will NEVER recommend this place especially at the amount of money we paid for our short 3 night stay. $265 a night for filth and rudeness. Nope! Never again!

Someone had laid in our bed and manager did not want to change out the sheets. No soap for taking a shower or washing one’s hands. Keys continually failing. Faulty door handle. Only one outlet useable. No housekeeping services.

Find somewhere else to stay
Very outdated and dirty. The key cards for our room expired every day. The continental breakfast was a box of Cheerios and some English muffins. Shuttle to and from the airport was great but the property and staff were not great. I would not stay here again.

Don’t Expect Much
The front desk was awesome! Just to set expectations, it is an old Super 8, so expect Super 8 quality. The AC/heater unit had broken slats and something all over it. The picture on the small TV was dark and hard to see. Our room was on the first floor facing an “empty” lot and main road. In the lot was a bike rental trailer, 2 food trucks and a tented eating area so we were never able to keep our curtains open. The free breakfast is extremely basic - toast, English muffin and instant oatmeal available.

Close to downtown and restaurants. Price was about half of orher nearby hotels. It was sufficient for an overnight before our cruise. Checkin staff was unwelcoming and not helpful.

More of a super 8 than a “lodge” in my opinion. Was clearly converted from super 8. Pretty well run hotel though, everything was smooth and room was clean. Friendly staff. Would prefer something a bit nicer but this gets the job done for sure.

This is an older property but clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was convenient for walking to town and over to the National Park. We would stay here again.

The guy at the counter was cool, talked about hunting and hooked up a fold out bed for us. Good place to crash for the night when you get to town late. Airport shuttle was reliable.

The property is falling apart. The front sign is gone. There was no screen or lock on our window. The chair in the room had cigarette holes in it. The curtains were falling down. I would not want to stay there again.
