Fidelis demonstrated exceptional professionalism throughout our interaction. He was remarkably accommodating, consistently honest, and promptly addressed any inquiries I had, usually within minutes. On the rare occasion that he couldn't respond immediately, he took the time to provide an explanation and offer his apologies. Recently, my son relocated to this area for work, and thanks to Fidelis, I can now rest assured that my 24-year-old son, who has yet to experience living on his own, is safe and comfortable. Fidelis's respectful nature is evident in his property as well. Moreover, he was under no obligation to inform us when another guest booked the basement, but he graciously kept us informed of any changes. This entire experience has been truly remarkable, and as long as Fidelis's properties are available, it will be my pleasure to book with him. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his place. Ms Cameron

Untrue description
Three of our friends booking this house for 6 days. After checking in, i found that the condition of the room was compoletely different from the description. He said that there were 2 beds in each of the 2 rooms, but in fact there was only one. We were traveling with 3 adults, it was impossible to sleep on 2 beds. He said there was a kitchen with utensils, but there was nothing, it was just am empty kitchen without any cooking utensils. He said there was a free breakfast, but there was only box of cereal. This made it impossible for us to continue to stay. I contact with the host the next day that i wanted to move out early and refund the remaining rent. He agreed, but i never received the refund, after sereral email discuss, he refused to refund the money. If you want a happy trip, avoid this house, don't be fooled by the advertising

Hi Tony, sorry for not understanding our listing. It remains as follows: 2 bedrooms and 2 beds. This means, each room has a bed. This private house accommodates maximum 4 guests, or less, and not more than four. Our guests review stands at 4.75, and more, approximately 5 stars. Thank you.

The owner did not disclose that someone was living in the basement. There was a door that connected the basement to the rented living space, and we only discovered that someone was down there by hearing sounds. We could not be sure that the basement door could not be unlocked from the basement side, and so did not feel safe staying there. We left, and the owner is refusing to reimburse us. I would not recommend this unsettling / frightening experience to anyone. Anything but cozy.

Nice Stay
We came for Brimfield and just needed a reasonable place to stay. This is a little old , not updated, two bedroom one bath house. Not fancy by any means but clean,comfortable and safe.

Convenient but in need of TLC.
The property is very convenient to WNE. There were quirks and things that need repair. It is like staying at a college student house. Be aware there are not the typical VRBO amenities like bath soap, hand towels, shampoo and coffee. A few weekends of TLC and several gallons of paint, and this could be a real treat. Note: the basement is listed on a different service.

Comfortable but worse for wear
This property had highlights like well-functioning AC units during a summer stay, comfortable beds, a nice couch, and a good variety of tv channel options. Unfortunately, the spacious kitchen was not stocked with tools for cooking despite having plentiful plates and bowls. The property also appears to have been abused by past guests as evidenced by damage to the walls and doors. This is a nice, little house - please be kind to it.

Perfect for a short stay. My family lives in Springfield so I went to celebrate my 70th birthday with them but didn’t want to impose on family or just get a hotel room. Everything was just as advertised. Quiet neighborhood, could use a little updating.

I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay and I had no illusions that it would be much more than "adequate." And it was entirely adequate for our purposes. We got in late, we were out early and it was a good place to spend what time we had. Love the Christmas tree in the TV room. Nice touch. And the price was right.

Not as advertised
There were several things wrong with the house. Took a video of how the house looked and now the owner who when he finally did come to visit us introduced himself as someone else. He basically had lied to us. Now he is accusing us of damaging the house and is attempting to charges for things that were broken and in disrepair upon our arrival. Very poor communication and a very dishonest host. We canceled our second visit with him and lost a lot of money. The money that we spent and the money that he kept that should be plenty to get the repairs done that should have been repaired prior to our stay. If you read further into the comments left by other visitors stating things such as the kitchen faucet being loose and nearly falling off and the hallway being very slanted and dangerous for guests. Just a very disappointing stay especially on our honeymoon.

OWNER IS NOT UNDERSTANDING / NOT FOR OLDER GUESTS
Booked house for 5 days with my mother (73). The house has some issue with the hallway slanting to one side. If you have anyone that is not steady on there feet this is not going to work. When we contacted them, stating we felt on safe and would have to find other housing and requested a PARTIAL refund for the days that we were not staying. The owner said that "the evaluation done before you shows nothing as to post safety risk to guest" so we will not be getting a refund. I understand that not all guest have the same concerns however I would have hoped they could work with us. The house had a few minor things, beds and couch were not comfortable. The faucet for the kitchen sink seemed like it was going to come off, when we used it and the water/ice didn't work for the fridge. The blinds had some missing pieces and only sheer curtains. But it was clean and that was all the representative seemed to care about. GFSF

Hi Irene, How are you and your family doing. I'm sincerely sorry for the feeling of unsafe with the property. Extend my greetings to all and hopefully everybody is feeling better now. I would have done exactly what you did with your family by finding a place you felt more comfortable and peaceful. We immediately followed up with your concerns about safety in the house, as somebody was sent to evaluate the situation together with you while still in the property. Report: the property was bought about a year ago. The property passed both State and City inspections 100%. The hallway links the entire house -- kitchen, living room, basement and the two bedrooms. A slant hallway would affect the connections to the hallway by causing a crack. But nothing of such. Currently, the evaluation done before you shows nothing as to posit safety risk to guests. Guests have never at anytime related of any safety concerns, but always satisfied with the neatness and comfort of the property. Report of the evaluation indicates that your mom appears to be not so much specific with her concerns as she struggled with the source of the safety concerns. The emails you exchangeed with us clearly indicated that all the complaints your mom made were one after the other withdrawn by you, when somebody came to evaluate your concerns. Check the property review and notice that the property is very busy with guests. Asking for a refund denied shouldn't sacrifice the truth about the property. We are sorry for the situation. If the reservation was cancelled before using the property, refund would have been easy. Hopefully you will understand with us why refunding is not done after using the property. 1. You don't review a property that you never used. 2. When you fabricated your lies about the property, you were requested to immediately cancel your reservation and be refunded; but you never cancelled. You blocked guests wanting to make reservations. 3. VRBO investigated all that you mentioned; and found the property perfect and all you said as untrue. 4. Hence, your review has no merit and I request VRBO to immediately delete it, your fabricated lies.

Unresponsive and cold
The listing showed pictures that were warm and cozy, this was not the case with our stay. We came in to the house on an evening where it was 30 degrees outside and the heating was turned off. I had turned the heating on, and we waited several hours for the house to be a manageable temperature. I reached out to the owner/manager, and they did not reply until the next day! The beds were clean and comfortable, and the shower was nice. Only one towel per person, and two people staying, so that wasn't very nice. No liquid soap to hand wash dishes, and I didn't feel it necessary to run a dishwasher load for just a few dishes. No trash bags, so we bought our own. I had to work while there, the internet kept going in and out, but I do understand that's not something the owner can control. The heating vents in the dining room also did not work. All of the heating vents were covered with furniture or heavy drapes. We also discovered one of the bedroom windows was wide open as we were tying the drapes back so the heat could come out of the vents. My mother and I both ended up having to cut our trip short due to a bad storm rolling through, and after telling the owner, I never received a reply. I hope the next person that stays there has a better experience with the owner and the house than we did.

Nice place
It’s a nice cozy house, has a real home like feeling to it. A bit of miscommunication with the dates rented due to it being listed also on Another site. Listing says you have the whole house to yourself but then after booking host tells you someone lives in the basement. Should really include that in the description as it can be off putting for some. Over all, great price for the place! Would stay again.

Not a quiet neighborhood
I was drawn to this listing because it was said to be in a quiet area. I was woken up at 2am by about a group of 20 teens/young adults yelling and playing loud music (heavy bass) until about 4am. I had a licensing exam at 9am the next morning and wasn’t able to get the rest I needed because of how loud the neighborhood was. I wouldn’t have picked this place if the description of the neighborhood was more accurate. Otherwise a decent place for a quick overnight.

The property was neat and tidy. It was in a great area. It was spacious and comfortable. There is a shopping complex within walking distance. The only one thing is they ask you to keep your shoes off and the floors are very slippery. My son fell in the hallway so just be careful on the hard wood floors.

Not what we signed up for.
The property needs more than cosmetics, very good internet, beds are firm and the surfaces were clean but old. Kitchen faucet coming off the countertop, bathroom sink drains like molasses in the winter outlets that are not completely covered, and the house has a very pungent mildew odor coming from the basement. We could no put our hanging clothes in the closet, I left after two nights with a sinus flair up. The owner was responsive but we were taken aback when we heard voices coming from the basement. I called him to tell him someone was in the basement only to find out it was him. He was spending the afternoon in the basement. This made us very uncomfortable. No warning or notice. It was creepy. Outside trash around property. Gutters falling off the house. College kids visiting the local campus might not care but we were very unhappy with the whole experience.

Excellent that this private house in a quiet neighborhood has very good internet, the beds are firm and the surfaces were clean. The basement is not part of the listing. Guests have no issues with the basement. This private house in a quiet neighborhood continues to be extremely comfortable with families, individuals and groups seeking for nice place to stay.

House was good. The owner was very prompt on messaging back. Water pressure was very low and it could use a washer and dryer but overall, the house was very comfortable to stay at. Great quiet neighborhood. I would definitely rent again

Perfect location to Springfield college
After getting clarification from the owner on location, google map was confused! We were very happy with the location in sixteen acres. Our daughter attends college at Springfield and the house was about 2 miles from her, and a few blocks more to campus. The house has charm and updates. I did alot of baking and cooking, but had to borrow cookware from my daughter and improvise on some items. But it all worked out. We would rent again if need be.
