Staff friendly, not ideal for a family at weekend
Staff very pleasant. Was a busy Saturday afternoon when we arrived, the staff were friendly and showed us to our room quickly. Tv control and tv were broken. Loud music until midnight so no sleep for any of the kids until after it had finished.

Loud party pub midweek, wouldn’t stay again
Was relatively clean and had everything we needed for a one night stop. Signage and pictures need updated as no food is offered so is a bit misleading. Check in was very rushed but staff were friendly. Good location. Wifi password in room welcome pack didn’t work so no wifi was available. Expected some noise as obviously about a pub but on a Tuesday night staying with a child I didn’t expect the rave and shouting from a packed pub right underneath us till gone midnight. Worse night sleep I’ve had in a long time and wouldn’t book here again due to this which is a shame

was 3 of us staying and we all thought it was a great room and value for money. felt there could have been some kind of sofa/chair . a room for 5 you might need something to sit on besides the bed. however room might not be big enough for the extra sofa. shower was great and easy to use . plenty towels. it is on a cross roads but its a quiet village so not a lot of road noise to keep you awake. easy to find only 10 minutes ish from the A1. while we was there the pub did not to food but there are plenty places close by to get anything you fancy. we would all stay here again clean tidy room , great hosts friendly and welcoming. great night in the bar drinking and chatting . what more cant you qsk for .

Room was clean, and a good distance away from the bar area. Cookies were a nice touch. Bathroom shower needs repair. Staff were very pleasant.

Great hospitality
From the lovely welcome the hospitality was first class, the food was amazing, local ingredients of top quality. Nice quiet room with good hospitality tray. Could have been a bit cleaner especially in today climate, Overall though a very nice place to stay. And I will return.

2 day stay over
Very nice 2 day stay over, staff where fantastic, friendly and helpful all the way through the stay. Rooms were clean and a nice place to stay with the family. Very happy to return.

The Punch bowl
The Punch bowl was a great place to stay the room was stylish and modern I had an on-suite with shower which was great. The pub itself was lovely all staff where nice and welcoming as was the locals. The food served was again fantastic and had a lot to choose from and was plentiful and great value for money all round. I would recommend and would stay again

Lovely stay but different
We recieved an email stating a 40th Birthday party would be held on the floor below the room we would be staying in however it would finish at 12.30pm, and would we be ok with this. We agreed that we be ok but however the party didnt finsh untill 1am. We did eventually get some sleep...the bed was nice and comfy and the room was clean but were disappointed that we shared a bathroom which wasnt mentioned when we booked it. The staff were all lovely, friendly and meals were first class.

Very friendly
Great location and easy to find. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was some noise from the bar in the evening and the WiFi connection wasn’t very good in the room that we had. But generally it was very good.

Staying close to Beamish as a family
Having spent the full day in Beamish it was only a short car journey (15-20 mins) and pretty easy to find. On arrival the keys were obtained from the bar which was quite busy and loud but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Check in was simple and we were shown to our room (family room) which consisted of a double bed (2 singles pushed together) a single and bunk beds. A good size and very light and airy. Conscious of the noise from the bar directly below but it was grand national day and maybe a few got lucky. Not sure what was in the area so was hoping the bar would offer some decent fair and that there'd be somewhere to sit. Time to relax - the dining area was separate to the bar and very well presented in a rustic manner. Good variety of food on offer which catered for all 4 of our needs. Very, very nice food and very reasonably priced (£60 for 4 meals, 1 dessert and all our drinks). We didn't venture into the bar (kids out by 9) and was still conscious of the noise but being honest it wasn't that bad and was done and dusted by 11 not that anyone else noticed as they were all asleep so clearly ok. Breakfast was again very nice. I would recommend the hotel change the drinks process at breakfast and allow guests to make their own coffee / tea and juice as that would take the pressure off the server. Only other little issue was the shower wasn't very powerful but the bathroom was modern and well kept. Would recommend this hotel and if we are in the area again would stay here

Very surprised to find that the ‘family’ room we had booked consisted of a single bed and two bunks. Very rowdy patrons in the bar.

Booked a double room and was given a twin with no explanation. We were also told a band would be playing that night which we didn't know about until we arrived. We went in the bar to have a drink but the band was extremely loud so we went up to watch tv which was impossible because of the noise. The noise did end at 11.30. The breakfast was ok.

An ok place to get your head down if your working
If your working in the area it is a nice enough place to stay for the money & the staff who I met where all friendly & helpful. The bar could get a wee bit busy with drunk locals at the weekend. I was there for 5 nights but unfortunately didn't get the room cleaned or fowls changed till the 4th day which ment I had to get a loo roll from the public loo, not good.

Comfy beds nice room
Though the hotel was good with comfortable beds the service could do with some improvement. There was no restaurant and check in was from 17:00 not 14:00 as advertised. Breakfast was poor and there were no staff during the day. There was a great hotel / pub down the road we ate there everyday.

Hotel near Beamish
We had read reviews about this hotel and agree that the outside is not the most welcoming, but what it lacked on the outside the staff, food and room made up for it. We arrived late, but the owner was more than happy to make a meal for us, which although simple was well cooked and delicious as was the breakfast. The room was clean as was the bathroom. A good choice if visiting Beamish and very reasonably priced.
