We regret that Daniel had an ant problem in his condominium. This was a result of extremely dry weather, when ants come inside from their nests outdoors looking for water. The problem was resolved by finding and destroying the nest. Apologies for the office being found closed. I have two Ticos who work in the office 6 days a week, but in high season it is difficult to make sure that one of them is always there. I have spoken to them about this complaint and hope that it wil not happen again.

I am happy you enjoyed your stay! The ants are an issue in Guanacaste each year at this time because the weather has changed from rainy to sunny (it will stay dry through March) and ants seek water inside. We are looking for outside nests and fumigating.

I have asked our air conditioning technician to see if these units need to be replaced. We expect everything to work well. The Oaks is not the place to stay for people who want to be in the tourist center; rather it is for people who want peace, quiet and security away from the tourist center and with easy access to less traveled beaches.

We fixed the water pressure, it is windy right now in Guanacaste and a tree branch fell on an electric line up the hill that controls the water. Line repaired. We also fixed the ant issue and the next guest, who checked in right after you, confirmed that now there is no problem. It is very dry in Guanacaste this time of year and ants, which nest outdoors under bushes, go on the march looking for water. Maintenance found and eliminated the nest and we fumigated inside the condominium. As the map shows on Expedia (hotels.com) we are 10 to 15 minutes from Tamarindo and also from Playa Conchal, for snorkeling, and Playa Flamingo and Playa Grande are 20 minutes. People who are only staying one night often will be better off inside Tamarindo, unless you already know the area and prefer to stay here. People who are staying three nights or more will find it easier to explore all the beaches from their Oaks base, including surf beaches better than Tamarindo, provided you have a car.

Thanks for your comment, our staff works daily to maintain our four pools, which along with our walking paths, outdoor gym and private dog park give our guests a lot to enjoy when they are not going to the beaches.
