Beautiful place that's been trashed equals pathetic rental
My wife and I recently traveled from the U.S. to vacation with 2 other couples in Spain. We arrived after the check-in time and were appalled when we saw the condition of this house. We spent time taking pictures of the gross negligence to report to VRBO, which included:
1. It was obvious the pool hadn't been cleaned in weeks from the amount of algae on the bottom. We found only one deck chair and it appreared to be broken.
2. The kitchen had dirty dishes piled up in the sink and on the counters. There was food left out on all the counters. There were empty booze, beer and wine bottles througout.
3. There were chemical bottles left out around the house.
4. The grounds itself was covered with debris with trashbags full of debris evident throughout.
5. There were elctrical outlets hanging loose from walls.
6. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a mess.
7. It was advertised as including A/C...none was evident, except for one floor fan.
After an hour we made the decision we would not accept the place in the condition it was in. The property manager was on-site cleaning and said he could have ready in 2 more hours...we collectively agreed that it would take days to make inhabitable, so advised the manager we would be seeking a full refund.
This house should be taken off VRBO until an agent of VRBO has inspected the premises and accepted the condition. To date we are exremely dissatisfied with the cooperation, or lack thereof, from VRBO customer service.
