The property was great along with employees. Very accommodating. The streets around the property were a little questionable but we never felt unsafe. It is similar to many areas of Havana.

The hotel is very good, friendly and very helpful staff. The stairs are a bit of an issue (62) to our room. While the hotel is new and clean it is in the middle of a slum and you will be many blocks to find a decent restaurant.

Abseits der Touristenströme mitten im Wohngebiet erlebt man eine andere Seite Havannas. Die Unterkunft selbst ist relativ ruhig gelegen und ein angenehmer Rückzugsort mit hohem Standart für kubanische Verhältnisse. Trotzdem ist man in 10-15 min zu Fuß an vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch ein paar Restaurants sind ums Eck.

Amazing stay, best hosts & location
My recent stay in this hostal was an absolute delight. The host's genuine hospitality made the experience memorable. They were incredibly helpful and always available. The location is ideal, placing you within walking distance of Old Havana's iconic spots. The room is also very nice, including a little fridge with drinks at very reasonable prices and all necessary supplies. 10/10 recommend this hostal.

What a beautiful place and an amazing host! We absolutely loved our room and our terrace. What a view and such a cozy and beautiful place. Our host was very attentive and helpful with map, places not to miss and any other stuff we needed. The location was perfect - only 12 min to the main touristy hub. We loved it and would come back again.

So many insects flying at night. Maybe I was just unlucky bad too scared to go out from room during the night. They even kept came into my room from small gaps like under the door. I had to fill the gap to feel safe.

Hello. Good day. We explained to you that Cuba is an island surrounded by sea. Those little bugs are harmless and are sometimes seen when it is going to rain. You would have noticed if you left the room that they left after. In our house, thanks to cleaning there are no pests or insects and it is where you least saw these types of bugs. I think you felt panic because of something that happened to you once because these little bugs of Light, as they are called in our country, are harmless and do not bite. Thank you so much

Hostal Los Villanueva offers a wonderful option for staying right in Habana Vieja. The dining area and balcony overlook the bustling street below, while the room that I stayed in was perfectly private and quiet. I was delighted that it had a kettle as well! The staff were most gracious and helpful at all times.

the roof top has a nice decorative tables that you can relax and drink a couple of coffee and view the city building and the Malecon ocean. the place was nice and very clean the staff where friendly. In press with the building interior desight .

Gem in Old Havana
Worth a five-star rating. The hosts attend to every detail, even rising early to make us breakfast before our 6 a.m. departure for the airport. Our room was quiet, comfortable and spotless, with everything we needed -- including a mini refrigerator, safe and hair dryer. The bonus: Access to a sitting area and outside terrace, where we could get on wifi and refine our plans for the day.

Excellent hotel. The owner and staff are very friendly. The location is very convenient -- right in the heart of the old city, minutes away from all old city points of interest. The owner was helpful in exchanging Canadian dollars for Cuban pesos at a very good rate and arranged our transportation to Varadero. The breakfast is excellent. Would highly recommend.

Best Cuban Experience in Varadero
One of the best stays in Havana. The hosts were fantastic and made our Cuban experience awesome. They went out of their way to help with local transportation and giving us tips on places to go and see. The breakfast was great every morning. The room was clean and supplied with all the essentials. When I come back this is the Hotel I will always book. If you want a real Cuban experience with hosts are are fantastic, then this is one of the best. It should be rated a 5 Star hotel

Recommended.

Excellent B&B (I wouldn't call it a hotel). Very clean and well appointed, but small. Staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was superb. Only negative was that we had to eat breakfast on the veranda in VERY uncomfortable tall chairs. Dicey neighborhood on south end of Old Havana. Otherwise great and recommended

Big Morning Fill-Up!
Nice place to stay in the heart of old Havana - lots of stairs here, so be warned but very nice rooms and a great bathroom. The staff are excellent and helpful and when you're told 'it's a big breakfast', you'd better believe it! Enough food to last through to the evening all freshly brought to the table.

Well located quality hostal
Rose speaks very good eglish and was very thorough in welcoming us and giving details of the locale. There is no lift to the accommodation but the guys carry the luggage up so no need to worry. The hostal is but 4min walk to the plaza vieja where bars and restaurants are plenty. 4 mins walk to the ferry to the fortress and 7min walk to the Capitoli/park central where the large hotels and tourist bus stop can be found. Breakfast was plentiful with fruit meats cheese etc. Rooms cleaned every day. The free wifi is a bit temperamental however compared to other areas where we had to sit in the main square with an ETECSA card it was very welcome. Overal a very pleasant stay....thank you.

Small place, big rating.
This small hotel is closer to a 5 star shared house with separate rooms with private bathrooms. For that reason, the whole place feels very homey and you don't get that careless feeling form it like the other hotels. For change, this place does feel upscale and stuff is more than helpful and friendly. They go way out of there way to help you out with whatever you need.

Great experience! It was the first time we booked a hostal and it was amazing! Staff is awesome! They made our life easy and comfy when for example booked our taxis and received us late at night. They also guaranteed that my eleven years old daughter had chocolate powder in the morning and also added some cupcakes in the breakfast to celebrate my husbands anniversary. By the way, the whole breakfast is delicious! Small details that made all the difference. To finalize, location is fantastic. Really close to most of the main attractions in Havana. Highly recommend!

Best spot in Old Cuba
This place was perfectly located and I WILL be back. Hostess was amazing and easy to deal with. Wifi was great and one place it actually works. Had a mild malfunction while we were there but out of ones control. We stayed in the double bed room which is right at the top of the property, stairs are steep but they carried our luggage up for us which was a great bonus. Room was well maintained and I can’t fault a thing including the breakfast which had a great variety. We added extra nights.

Hostal Los Villanueva is a delightful place to stay in Havana. The staff—-Rose, Elias, Carlos—-are all gracious and helpful in every way. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a delicious welcome cocktail—a rum concoction inside of a coconut! Our room was fine, with all the amenities that we needed. The hotel has an outdoor sitting area on three of the four levels, which we greatly enjoyed! Our room was on the third level of the hotel. Right outside our door was a lovely outdoor sitting area with a table and swinging chair. Then, up a spiral staircase was a beautiful rooftop sitting area with a little bar. It was a great place to be as the sun was setting—-gorgeous views of the Capitol building and the surrounding area and neighborhoods as the sun goes down. We loved that!! The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Calle Obispo, the main tourist street. It’s only about a five-minute walk to the water and to the San Jose artesian market. The hotel is centrally located in Old Havana, and it’s easy to walk to all the sights. A highlight of our stay at the hotel was the delicious breakfasts that we were served each morning—-eggs, cheeses, fresh fruits, breads, fresh fruit smoothies, and more!!I highly recommend this charming hotel in fascinating Havana!!

Es liegt in der Altstadt und ist trotzdem sehr ruhig. Ich konnte mein Leihfahrrad in der Nähe parken, da im Haus dafür kein Platz war. Frühstück war gut. Ich hatte zwei Zimmer mit toller Aussicht. Ich kann die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Der enge Treppenaufgang war gewöhnungsbedürftig.

This hostal is a delightful haven in Old Havana, with its two rooftop terraces full of plants. The breakfasts are excellent, the hosts are extremely helpful and accommodating, and the property is impeccably clean. We give it our highest recommendation.
