The property is conveniently located to the South Kensington museums and Imperial College London. The Gloucester Road Underground Station is very convenient. These are all positives. A couple of areas of disappointment with the hotel related to the air conditioning and the check-in process. Despite notifying the property of problems with the air conditioning in our room, it was never fully resolved. The room temperature exceeded 27 degrees Celsius even though the outside air temperature was near 16. The windows do not open. The air would run for a few minutes, never get to the desired room temperature, and then would shut off. We were never able to overcome this pattern, even after maintenance supposedly checked the thermostat. With respect to check-in, the check-in time is 3 p.m. and not a minute before. For those of us that arrive on red-eye flights, not being able to get into a room an hour or two early is a bit frustrating. The hotel lobby was full of groups of very tired people waiting to get into rooms. At 2:55 p.m., we were told the rooms were not ready and then magically at 3 p.m., they were all ready. I've stayed in many hotels across London and never had a problem getting into a room an hour or two early. For those of us traveling into London on red-eye flights, this is important. I am unlikely to book this hotel again for this reason alone.

Very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are nice especially if you have a garden view. Only negativee pooint was thhe check-in which was painful and unpleasant.

The location of the hotel is great but unfortunately during our stay the tube lines to this hotel was out of order. The staff is really nice and helpfull but in weekends the buffet breakfast was way too crouwded. 1 minus: inside the hotel it is super hot and it is not possible to open any windows in the hotel rooms

Lovely property with good friendly staff, however outside wheelchair lift was broken and found out we needed to go down steps for breakfast. Overall great stay but maybe more work for disabled people to be amazing. but would recommend

We stayed in room 428 and next to us was a private store room. We were rudely waken up at 6am by staff taking something and being very noisy. It sounded like the cleaning trolleys for staff to clean rooms. We could not get back to sleep and I must say it ruined our stay. We came to London to see a show and ended up not getting much sleep. I mentioned it to the receptionist when checking out Saturday morning she was not helpful at all. Her response was speak to Expedia, who we made the booking with.

Disappointed we had to leave a £150 deposit as well as the cost of the room. Room was small with limited facilities. WiFi poor. Door difficult to open. Shower loose and an adjoining to door to the next room. No fridge. No water on arrival. Limited choice for breakfast although it was tasty. Location great.

To be honest I saw the reviews before I book I felt not comfortable however , I boooked three nights and the hotel was amazing the bed and the air conditioning and even the staff and especially (Zain ) . The location of the hotel is perfect and a lot of restaurants around it . In the end PERFECT !

My family and I stayed at Doubletree London Kensington from Jan 2 to Jan 5 2024. The overall experience was AMAZING! The hotel is very conveniently located, in a ver posh areas, surrounded by Embassies and nice Victorian buildings. It is close to the Museum mile. The continental Breakfast is delicious, especially the scrambled eggs and hash browns. Rooms are ok, nothing special (they should include a fridge).The service is very friendly and do their best to meet your needs, especially WAJIA and ZAIN. We are so grateful to them!We definitely want to come back!

5min walknto the natural history museum. 10min walk to south kensington underground. A few nice restaurants dotted around and a waitrose opposite for any forgotten items or little treats. Other guests were exceptionally noisy but you cant escape that in a busy hotel. Breakfast was good, pancake machine a big hit with kids. Checked in at 4 and it was chaotic with so many othwr guests also checking in and it seemed like many rooms were not ready. Our room was and it was exactly what was advertised and booked. Clean and perfect for a one night stop.

They were not accommodating with respect to the shorter stay (I had to check out a few days earlier). They would also not change my check in and chk out dates despite having a travel issue where we could not make to to town on time. All this during Christmas. When we arrived our room had dirty towels. They changed the room but were not accommodating with anything else. I would not go back.

This is not what I expected from DoubleTree! Worst
Only good thing I can mention is the Bathroom: Clean and well maintained. And in good location. We checked in 6pm, From the outside door to our room and inside room floor is littered with food. Didn't seems like vacuumed well. Carpet is falling off and dirty! Room Window will not close properly, cold comes through... To make things worst, Heating automatically went to 23c at some time during night and it was unbearable to sleep! on "Both nights" and the TV turned on midnight. We informed staff, only thing they were able to say was Sorry! that should not happen!...

Notwithstanding the great location of the Hotel, I found it falling short in a number of areas. The absence of a fridge, the non-functional air-conditioning, inadequate provision for hanging towels and the non-operational safe are but a few features that influenced my average rating. Credit must go to the staff, in particular Wajid Bhutti, who went beyond the call to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Great staff at a middle of the road hotel.
The person at reception was super helpful and the check in cookies are a nice touch. The hotel itself is fine. Nothing spectacular. Rooms are pretty basic. No bottled water which might be an eco thing which is understandable I guess but no glasses to use in the room. My one main gripe is the cost of the breakfast. £27! Absolutely not worth it. I could have eaten breakfast at the Ivy for less than that and eaten the equivalent quality food at the Premier Inn. Ultimately location is great. Hotel is fine but the breakfast is best avoided.
