GPS coordinates: 40.191351, -8.387995. The car park is located on the old road from Coimbra to Penacova (N110), just at the entrance to the village of Torres do Mondego, on the side of Coimbra. You can also type O Pioneiro Do Mondego. Instructions coming from the South (Lisbon): Exit the A1 at the exit 11 of Condeixa/Tomar. Follow the IC2/IC3 to Coimbra for 6.7 km. Cross the Rainha Santa Isabel bridge. Follow EN17, VN Poiares @ the bridge. Follow EN110, Penacova @ the roundabout of Portela. Continue for 1.1 km, the entrance gate is on your right.

De qué se trata
Después de reunirse con su guía turístico por la mañana, lo trasladarán a Penacova y le proporcionarán el equipo de kayak y algunas instrucciones. Luego, salga de la presa de Carvoeira en un recorrido en kayak con una longitud total de 18 km (11 millas).
Recorrerás en kayak el valle natural del río Mondego, rodeado de extensos bosques. Al viajar río abajo, pasará por los pequeños pueblos de Ronqueira, Rebordosa, Louredo, Foz do Caneiro y Casal.
Esta parte del río está llena de pequeñas playas donde puedes parar para hacer un picnic o ir a nadar. En la playa fluvial de Palheiros, encontrarás un pequeño bar donde puedes comprar un helado o una cerveza fría.

Follow 200m (dirt road) to the dam.

Do not cross the river at the Rainha Santa Isabel bridge; follow Sta. Clara. At the first roundabout after the bridge take the first exit (Ceira). Turn immediately left (towards Parque Verde/Exploratorio). After the Exploratorio, the parking lot can be found next to the swimming pool.
